  1. I Definetly loved the gritty techno bass that comes in every now and then, I honestly have no idea what he's talking about though.
  2. I don't even have to listen to it to know how I feel, I feel the compassion Paul is giving for Julian, a truly beautiful Melody.
  3. It's really... different , I do like the transition from the woman's to the guy's voice and how the feel changes.
  4. Little Girl Glados Lol, when i got to that part when it got really loud and distorted I had my earphones turned up, ow.

Thanks for doing this!

  1. I simply don't like this song. I listen to it once, maybe beat is good, but overall i dont have any good reason to lisen this song one more time.

1) Sounded intriguing until vocals came in... yikes. Never was a fan of rap, so my ears bled. Forced myself to listen to the whole song for science, though.
2) You can never go wrong with Beatles, heh. And I can't help singing along- "Naaa na na nanananaaa... nanananaaaaa, hey jude..." brings back a lot of memories.
3) I own all Arcade Fire albums except for Neon Bible, so it was nice recognizing the same vocals from Half Light from The Suburbs... It's upbeat, a tad nostalgic, and overall epic- just how I like my Arcade Fire.
4) Cute tune at the beginning, but even after reading the posts above and expecting something weird, I still jumped about a mile high when ear rape kicked in... christ. Thanks for the heart attack

I was debating participating, but quickly decided against it when I started listening to the Death Grips song. So I'll just leave this relevant image here instead. :)

  1. The beat was good. I like the 'Zitko' 'Zitko' bit although it sounds like 'It goes' 'It goes' to me. I don't know?? lol. I never really listen to these types of songs. I don't mind rap but these guys really sounded like an amateur group to me. Unless that was their plan to sound like that?? Overall it was ok. But I would have ended up with a massive migraine listening to it again. Sorry lol.

  2. The song is slow and it's about JUDE lol. I actually started to move my head left and right to the music and lyrics. 'Nanananana' liked that part of the song.Still stuck in my head. XD Hmm, I might put this on my phone for funs. :)

  3. The song started out kind of boring until the guy started to sing and that's when I really got into the song. It feels like I was listening to two different songs. The beginning is very different compared to when the guy starts to sing. Weirdly enough, I like the song. The video was weird too. lol.

  4. It's really quiet in the beginning and I'm liking it. So I slightly turn up the volume then... OMFG I nearly shat my pants. Thanks for killing my earphones too.

  1. This seems like mostly rap over a basic background beat. The bits of electronic-type music that are in there are OK, but some are a little annoying. Overall, I guess it's OK, but it's not really my kind of music.
  2. Hey Jude is a great song; I don't really need to listen to it to know I like it. The Beatles did a lot of good stuff in general. When I do hear this song though, it always reminds me of when I played it back in high school with a jazz band. At the end for the na-na section we had a few different people and instruments (including me) play improvised solos and head out into different areas of the audience while playing. It was awesome! It didn't come out very well on the recording, but in person it was something else. It was a lot of fun. Like I said, great song.
  3. The first part was good, nice beat and rhythm. The vocals weren't my favorite, but they were OK. The second part was noticeably different, in music and vocals. Pretty good. The female vocals come back in towards the end, so there's some tie-in with the two parts, but I have to agree with the previous comment that it sounds more like two songs strung together than one song. Not bad, and the transition between them worked well. It's not what I usually expect from a song though, unless it's stated as a medley or something.
  4. The beginning is good -- nice gentle music, on the quiet side. Then nearing halfway in something like feedback noise blasts in over it. Even with the previous comments here and knowing something like this was coming, it was still a bit of a surprise when it happened. It sounds like the original music is still playing here, but it's hard to hear much of it. But near the end, the feedback noise just stops and the song gets quiet again, pretty much like it started. Talk about change in dynamics -- very soft, very loud, very soft, and all abruptly; no gradual crescendo/diminuendo to ease you into it. Switching into the middle/loud section was kind of a shock and you don't really have time to get used to the new sound here before it just disappears and you're dumped back to the original sound. The switch out to the last quiet section was much easier to make, I think. It was a bit of a surprise, too, but in a much nicer way since it was suddenly soft instead of loud (easier on the ears). It wasn't bad, but it seems like this would have been better if they stuck with one style here instead of switching between two.

Well let's see now. These are pretty much first impressions of the songs as I've never heard any of them.

  1. This is certainly not my kind of song. It sounds like some sort of rap with industrial influences in the beat. Overall felt like the song was dragging a bit and when the electronic sounds started near the end, it was already too late to save the song. Best part was the short electronic "bleep" at 2:03 or so.

  2. After couple of seconds it's already better than the first song. Not a huge fan of The Beatles but they have some nice songs though. I haven't heard this one before and when the drums enter it sounded a bit like some progressive song but it didn't and I was slightly disappointed. The song is pretty calm and simple. Not much going on in it and not the best Beatles song I've heard. It's still pretty good though but the best part of it was the proggy drums. :P

  3. This sounds quite nice. Very post-punkish feel to it which is great. Reminds me a bit of Joy Division. But wait, what's this? Now the song is quite different. Sounds a lot darker and not so post-punkish anymore. I liked the first half of the song more than the latter half.

  4. Well this is different to say the least. Started out first as nice calm song but then the wall of noise came. I was expecting something like that after reading the top comment while listening to the song. I could have written a "funny" reaction to the song but to me it seemed too forced. Certainly I can't think of any reason why someone would voluntarily listen to that but each to his/her own. The song is quite awful since it consists mostly of incomprehensible noise. Definitely not my cup of tea. If I were to listen something comparable to that, it would have to be drone. It's more relaxing. :D

  1. Guillotine by Death Grips: It was interesting, I like the beat and the tempo of it, while not a huge fan of rap, the "zitko" part reminds of some sort of tribal African beat or something. Emphasizing on the beat because I like the bass drop of it. I think "zitko" will be my new chant from now on.

  2. Hey Jude by The Beatles: When I first heard this song, it was very inspirational in a way. I first heard this song in a movie called Across the Universe, and it really hit me. I felt like it was an encouraging song, because the lyrics is about taking something bad and making it better.

  3. Black Wave/Bad Vibrations by Arcade Fire: It was to figure out what this song was about. Though looking at the lyrics, I presume it was about getting to freedom and being free, to let the bad memories go away. I liked how there was a change in tone of the song from the female's voice into the male's voice, with the male's voice sounding like a warning of sorts. Either way, the song was good and I still do not understand the meaning of the song

  4. 五月雨ブルドッグ Samidare Bulldog: I like how it "leads" you at the beginning of the song. At first glance, the song is very sweet, cute, gentle, basically smoothing. It sounds like a nice techno, machine like Japanese music that I usually find on youtube like one of the Vocaloids sang it, but then right in the middle of the song, BAM! This sudden screeching of a devil like sound blasts into your speakers/headset, like a demon was going to possess you or something, the entire music video just got flipped around: dark, scary, demonic. It was almost like as if the girl is going through a lot of pain and torment. By the time the video is over, it returns to a peaceful breeze, like a calm before the storm.
