Those are race points not tokens, tokens are to spend at pit stop, points are to use in boosting your team

No. My points are around 40k which I can't claim. It says I can use 15k of my 18k tokens to get a discount when I'm on the cart, about to buy something.

If you requested and were granted a refund for a Steam purchase, then any tokens you earned from that purchase that you redeemed at the Pit Stop will be deducted from your account. If that results in your token balance becoming negative, then the most recent items (or games with the shopping cart discount) you've redeemed tokens for will be removed from your account.

Update: it worked!!! It just does not appear like I've completed quests in the first pannel where all elegible games are listed, but when I go to the end of the page and see the total points, I do have lots of points thanks to Stardew Valley :D|

i have 553 boosts right now but greyed out, if i do some quest i will able to boost. i think 1 achievement = 1 boost. so i will have 553000 tokens which means 5530levels for badge? wtf

1000 boosts mean 1.000.000 tokens and 10.000 levels. did u use sam? i cant use my boosts without unlocking achievements

all i can say, what i used, i used all my boost and it says 1000 distance + 25 nitro
i got 100.000 tokens

oof. not sure I can even partake in this, my internet is crap atm so getting the grand prix page to load is already nigh impossible/frustrating. but having to install games to help boost my team... at my current speed it'd take me 5 dys and 12 hours to download AoE 3 for example. mega oof lol

I tried asking the Steam support thing for help (always dangerous!) and a short time later the purchase was refunded... Not what I wanted, but eh... Then I tried again, and same problem. Think it had something to do with the $5 discount thingamabobs, because the third time I tried without using any and it worked fine. Great, except I didn't get to use the discounts... :( Oh well... :)

Okay, just so I get this right: the only way to earn points is to play multiplayer ftp crap like cs:go and one other game? I don't have any of those 13 games in the "Play These Participating Games" section and Steam only lists one game in the "Play any game with Steam Achievements" for me because I it's the only one I recently played. So If I had played several dozen games with achievements before the sale started I would have more options? Not that I like the whole achievement idea anyway. And how many would I have to earn anyway in order to get that discount from the pitstop?

The ones in my achievement category are offering enough nitro that I probably don't need to play another game for the entire event. They're showing tens of thousands of nitro available for some of the games where I'm just working on the last couple of achievements.

I can't even claim mine. It says "No capacity avaliable. Upgrade your Boost Meter's capacity or wait until tomorrow to claim your points" for each of my games. I assumed that I couldn't refuel until tomorrow?
Also, how did you boost your tank level over 1000? From the amount I spent at the store, I should have raised my capacity to ~5500, but it still only says 1000.

I am aware of that. However, you also need to have the game recognized as "recently played" to be recognized as eligible for the achievements. I had only one game available for that when the event started. Now after just running asf in the background for a while it's two.
I still don't like the whole thing, achievements is basically just a pretty name for "user surveillance" (marking exactly when you reached a certain point in a game). I usually tend to block them by putting Steam into offline mode. Now I wonder if it might be worth recording a few or if that discount is out of reach without spending money anyway.
