For movie adaptions it's usually due to license expiring but that's just a guess.

Capcom has the Marvel stuff right now since they are doing MvC, so very unlikely. Activision were allowed to do some stuff for a while, but it will be gone.

The "remove and relist" approach seems to intentionally serve as a way of "rebooting" back to list price, after which they slowly work it back down. (In that sense, it's identical to the 'Enhanced Edition'/'Remastered Edition'/etc approach that has become so common for games [as they similarly typically reset back to a high retail price], but without even an empty gesture toward pretending the game has been updated with new elements.) This time, I guess it just got taken back down before it re-reached the previous lows. :S

Probably license expiring again. Only reason they re-licensed it was to cash in on the 1st movie. I half expect it to be back again next spring, in time for Deadpool 2.
Because Activision won't be pulling High Moon Studios off of Destiny to make another solid licensed game like they used to.

It's a game with a good sense of humour and breaks the fourth wall sometimes. I like games like these. And there is few games like that. If you like games like that you should definitely play it.
