Check out that Watch Dogs giveaway and all those comments that are clearly well within the rules.

We might as well just disable comments on giveaways since they're either "Thanks!" or "NOTFAKE!".

What do you want the comments to say their life stories? Someone is giving something away and people are thanking them for it, why should that be a reason to remove comments?

+1
Also, in some of my previous giveaways, I've put a question in the description. It's not compulsory to answer but it's nice to read through and see who reads it and answers.

That would be the only exception is when someone is asking something, but let's be honest, did you read every single response?

There is more negativity that comes from having them enabled than there is value in my opinion.

Not really, anyone that calls out gets suspended so there isn't really any negativity.

Clearly you've taken a look at that Watch Dogs giveaway I pointed out and saw how every single one of them has been suspended, correct?

It's an idle threat that no one seems to take seriously which is what title of thread is implying.

wooooooooooooosh!

Yeah, I did. On all my giveaways.

There's no downside to having them enabled anyway. If you don't want to read them, or don't want to comment, then don't.

Or SG could supply copies of the game whenever the giveaway creator doesn't deliver and then we would never have to worry about any of it.

But, since I can't enter my own giveaweays, my fake 500,000 copy giveaway of Skyrim ends up benefitting everyone except me. ;-/

Ideally I'm waiting for this announcement: "Anyone saying/implying that a giveaway is fake will be suspended. Anyone posting a fake giveaway will be shot."

Many of the fake giveaways are due to bad translation leading to misunderstanding of the site rules.

I'm not seriously suggesting they should be shot, partly for this very reason ("don't shoot me! Google translate said if I made a fake giveaway, I'd get cake!"), though I am curious about how bad the translation is that people think they're going to get free games from a site they've not contributed a single thing to.

But the rules have been translated into quite a bit of different main language.
And anyone who can't understand one of the basic languages in not worthy of being a Steamgifts user! :P

Are you... calling them out for calling people out?

(Am I calling you out for calling them out about calling people out? Callception!)

Shhh! That is what the title is implying though...if they aren't getting in trouble, why would I? :p

One day, a game will be titled "Fake" and everyone will be able to say "THIS IS FAKE!" or "This is a Fake giveaway!" in the comment section without getting banned. But until that happens, the banhammer will continue hitting heads.
