64 for me. Not too shabby considering I was "late to the game" on the whole internet front.

I guess I should have checked but I guess it is slightly different with a poll...

Sorry in advance if my words are hurtful towards you, albeit, unintentionally. I'm just speaking my mind & as such, have no intention to aggravate anyone.

... it is slightly different with a poll ...

Well, I certainly can't argue with that logic. SMH

All I can say is if I was the one informed by another user, let alone the creator, about a duplicate thread of mine, I would have immediately closed mine as a common courtesy, not due to any rules (or lack thereof), but to each their own.

What intrigues me, even more, is the action of the commenters (some of whom are quite close to me), who commented after my initial comment thereby choosing to ignore the fact that this is a duplicate thread regardless of the fact that it contains a poll.

Im not the creator but there is a different and thats not only the poll but thats the question from the Thread
you questioned what is the view
this thread question is how many of those sites do you know .

its the same if 2people do a thread about a book
one wants to talk about the Book itself and on the other side the party just want the oppinion if the book is iworth to buy .

I guess 66. I might've heard of some others but I only counted the ones I knew at least something basic about. But to be only no. 13 and not no 1... biased list...

The benefits of being online since the beginning of the WWW. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Strange how I knew pretty much any site from the top 50 (WebMD was the only exception) and only about the half of the rest. Though they really were quite US centric.

65 but there are a lot of crap meme BS in that list. They didn't shape anything. Having IMDB, Wikileaks, Facebook and the Pirate Bay in the same list as whatever the hell is Blingee.... seriously?

Recognized 64 based on name/usage, despite being pretty new to the internetz (I only started browsing the internet widely about 10 years ago).

I was able to recognize 85/100 including the entire top 50. The Space Jam promotional webpage is amazing, I would have had a blast there if I knew about it 20 years ago :P

They should really change the name to "about 80 websites that shaped the internet, and 20 that weren't that influential... but we just really liked them, so we're putting them on the list."
