I just did a couple of giveaways today but one user I sent a game to claims the product key is already used. I just had generated it from my Humble Bundle page so I'm not sure if that's true or if he just gave it to a friend or something. What should I do?

Did you sent 2 of the same key to both winners? That can happen sometimes.

I thought I may have but I checked my outgoing emails in gmail and the keys were different.

That must suck... I would be highly suspicious as well. I guess you could contact humble support and see if they can do anything.

He didn't show any proof, just said the key is a duplicate and he can't speak English well.

Check his profile to make sure he didn't activate the game and is trying to scam you (Highly doubt it, but worth a shot.)

If there's someone posting on his wall a lot (obviously a brother or best friend or something), you can check him, too, to make sure he's not trying to scam you for a second key for his friend.

Yeah, the game isn't on his profile as far as I can tell.

Which one? SS HD 2? That never shows on the profile unless you play it, so I'm distrusting of this winner.

It's the first encounter HD. Does that one also not show up until played?

That one shows up normally once used.

Interesting... I only learned yesterday that some games don't show on profiles. I've seen some Serious Sam bundle owners mention that they were unable to enter for dlc here on SG. Was this the reason?

Correct. The multiplayer mode is free to play, single player is a DLC. Once you play it enough for it to appear on your profile, you can enter that DLC fine.

Key drop it to test. If it works, the user was lying. Of course, he may have lied and traded / sold it, too.

Looks like the guy marked it received. It was the SS1 you were having issues with right?

You've got to be very careful when dealing with keys.

People of questionable morals can trade the key away while claiming it doesn't work. This is why you always record any conversation with the person receiving the key by using screenshots. Also, pirates can synthesize and use a valid key before it is even sold. In the latter case, you have to try and work it out with the seller and/or developer.

Tell him to send you a screenshot of steam saying that the key has already been used.

This way, he can't try to first trade it off (if he hasn't already). Ask him to do this in a chat through Steam, and ask him to be quick about it. This way, his window to try and trade it off is limited the most.
