There's a "Minimum Ratio for number of Sent/Won Giveaways" that you can set to 1.01 to achieve what you want; only people who have sent more games than they have won will be shown the giveaway link.

Only know how to creat a normal GA

create a private giveaway, but before you provide the link to anyone, put it here: http://www.sgtools.info/giveaways/manage, where you can then create rules

aha ok going to try with a really cheap game
thanks be right back ( Ihope)

You have to first make a normal (private) giveaway, then go to sgtools to set up the filters.
Then instead of sharing the giveaway link, you share the sgtools link, and only people who meet the requirements you set up will be shown the giveaway link.

You can also (just for testing) use an old private giveaway

I would post the SGTools link to the OP so anyone entering the thread see that giveaway too

When I first saw the title, I thought it was just more Yoshi clickbait :)

It is just a way to enforce additional rules on private giveaways. You can let SGTools check users for unactivated wins before even getting a link to your private giveaway. You can also do more complicated things in the custom rules like only allowing users that have given x amount in public giveaways to get the link.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

nope this time it wasnt bait :P
hehe
I dont know where to start I have the above link installed and then I'm puzzled
first step install https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/b736C/tool-sgtools-new-section-deals check
second step..........???

I think you figured it out with my other reply ... no "install" necessary. You can go to other SGTools links to review others' custom rules. This - http://www.sgtools.info/giveaways/dashboard will show you the SGTools protected giveaways you have tried to pass in the past.

simple rule, it worked & I passed :)

You can also edit the rule on your manage page and add some check boxes like never VAC banned or no multiple wins or no unactivated wins

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

ok thanks I checked those boxes
But does my rule mean that people must have given away at least one more game then they won?
Cause thats what I wanted to do (thx to sexyBudgie)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

yes that is correct, but it does not take into account "real value" / CV

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

got to learn that too
But I wanted to give people a chance who gave more then they leech
Or is it better to do that with cv?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I would go with the CV, but that's just me.
Too easy to buy 60 very cheap keys now days.

Permalink

mmm Will try that later with a new game
Thanks

your giveaway, your choice. How do you define leech, that is the question :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

yes you are right
You could have won 100 games (only bundled ones)
You could have given away Stardew valley 50 times
With my rule you are a leech
So it doesnt add up indeed

This one also requires no not activated wins, no multiple wins and no vac bans. If you want to remove those restrictions, click on "edit giveaway filters" (on that page) and then uncheck stuff in the column on the right called "Rules".

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

is it better to uncheck them?
Or leave it this way?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It depends on you. If you mark must have activated all the won gifts option on the list then those users who didn't activate a game or more on their Steam account will lose the chance to participate in your GA.

Sometimes those who have not activated wins are the people that they have already served their suspension but still will get punished by you for not activating that/those game(s) on their Steam account.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

oh ok
So if you got suspended you couldnt activate a game?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

no,you got me wrong.

I mean this option restrict access of those group of users who didn't activate THOSE won games on their account THAT they have already served their suspension time for in 7 days after the won.

E.G : I won a game here, actually my first won and traded it and got suspended for 4 days BUT after i served my suspension period and back here i bought that game and activated it on my account.

Some users easily ignore it and do not buy the game that they have served suspension for that, for any reason. This group will lose a chance to participate in GAs protected by SGtools that have must have activated all the won gifts option marked.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I understand it now :))

because you bought the won game you could enther my GA? Or can you still not enter?
Dont know if I can still deselect this option, is that possible?

And how about the other 2 points VAC ban and no multiple wins Can I leave those on?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, I didn't activate my first two won. :P

I bought one and received another one for free from one of our friends when i told them the whole story. [ Thanks again M8 ;) ]

Using or not using these three options only depends on you. Use them and see how much they are effective on having a safe giveaway or not. :)

Hamed can join because they have all games they won activate on Steam. It is up to you if you want to exclude people for certain infractions. Hamed did the right thing, many other users don't care.

Generally, with higher level giveaways and rules like:
real_sent_cv > real_won_cv
you won't have to worry so much about leeches

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Thanks so if I use real_sent_cv > real_won_cv
It will be enough? It sounds better then gave more games the won
And I can only do this for higher levels?
I know a lot of questions
Really thanks for helping me out :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You can require level == 5 with SGTools, or just set that for your private giveaway with SG.

You aren't required to combine any rules specifically. I was just mentioning that if you do a higher level giveaway, it is less likely that those users who would qualify would also have non-activated wins.

I recently started to check for non-activated wins, and several of my winners had non-activated wins. I don't like it, so if/when I create private giveaways in the future I will select that as a disqualifier.

yes thats why I did check it cause I'm waiting now for 4 days for someone to activate my GA (he/she got more non activated games) And is online and playing GTA and has been many times online here)

Why the short GA duration?

real sent CV bigger than real won CV

So, even if I sent 15 games, I can't enter because I won 2 unbundled ones? I'm crying... Nope, I'm just joking xD

Minimum ratio using number of gifts Sent/Won on Steamgifts: 0.4

Now, this is a bit better, as I have an healthy ratio of 5 :p

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Is "the with real sent CV bigger than real won CV" more difficult to enter then "Minimum ratio using number of gifts Sent/Won on Steamgifts: 0.4"?
Cause I'm not sure and I'm still learning

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Concerning ratio: the real CV filter is a more powerful filter than the minimum ratio of gif's sent/won.

Real CV ratio 1.00 = for every dollar you won you have gifted one dollar.

Minimum ratio using gifts sent/won = for any one game won you gifted any one game (= doesn't matter if it's a 10 cent game or a 50 dollar game)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

minimum ratio of gif's sent/won
when you this then someone could not enter when a person has given away 10 stardew valleys
and won 20 little bundle games
Or do I see this wrong?

yes exactly ;-)

One could have won Fallout 4 and gifted Bad Rats.

One could have won Bad Rats and gifted Fallout 4.

Minimum ratio of gifts sent/won is literally any 1 game sent / any 1 game won.

And that's the very reason why real CV ratio is a stronger filter.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

mmm didnt think about that one :)
Thanks I think I'm learning to understand it a little better
So I will stick with the 0,4 till 0,5 for the next one

I did read it that way :)
But its all clear I thought it was a fair rule but thanks to you I know now it can be explained the other way around
So I make a giveaway of the same game but now with the 0,5 ratio

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Sorry but English is not my native language. :-)

Please know that in the end it's the giveaway creator that makes the giveaway he wants, period and it doesn't matter if it's public, low or high CV, puzzles, private, SGTools,... They are your games and they are your giveaways!

I know, but I like it when people let me see the down side or up side of things
Btw your English is perfectly fine :)

You will never get a correct or definitive answer for the right way to use SGTools, simply because SGTools is something each person will have a different view on it. Some people refuse to use it, others use it just as a way to prevent rule breakers from entering, others to stop "leechers" and so on. All of the rules have flaws, going with number of gifts alone means you can win brand new games and only give a lot of bundled ones. If you decide to go with CV that has flaws too, it's easy to exploit in different ways, either by only giving region locked games or buying unbundled games in grey market stores for just a few cents and getting a lot of real CV for them. None of them is perfect or flawless so as LostSoulVL said, it's your games and your giveaways so just do what feels right.
