I had the same problem but with this mod graphips improve a lot:

I just played it a few months ago and I thought it was really good. A lot better than Human Revolution. If you never played games from that era then maybe you won't like the graphics, but I didn't think they were half bad.

Nostalgia goggles.
If you liked a game when it first came out, you'll like it despite the poor graphics. If you're just getting into it now, it'll be a distraction. It'd likely the same for many of you, even those preaching that "graphics don't matter".
The only genre dated graphics work in is isometric RPG's, usually because the 2D visuals are good enough.

Perfectly said. I can even apply that to myself with FF7, Chrono Cross, and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. I can still play FF7 because I played and fell in love with it when it first came out. I recently tried playing the other 2 games for the first time, but couldn't get more than 5-10 mins into them due to their graphics.

i prefer the biomod over shifter. Shifter changes the gameplay a bit too much imo,I really liked the fact that unlike HR you are not rewarted for not killing enemys so its really totally up to you. However in shifter you get XP for every enemy and how you get rid of them. Didnt like that. Biomod has all the good benefits from shifter and the neat feature that implants that only use energy when actually being used stay activated so you get a little less micromanagement. However I totally understand if ppl prefer the shifter mod.

this is madness! blasphemy! buy the game and play it for the story there a lots of games that use old concept graphics and make a huge succes if they would update the graphics of old games when the tecnology evolves many old games would be the best game ever and forever
the kids nowdays only look at how much graphic memory a game uses to judge how much is it worth, try it if you will be disappointed you have lost near to nothing since it's old, by the way is up to you i love it's story and all

that's quite different. Visuals are far more affected by the technological improvemens than music or books.
music and books change of genre more than anything depending of the time they were made/written. Music does have a better fidelity quality nowadays but that's easy to get over it.
with books you always have the same thing, words on paper. Nothing really affected by the technology when it comes to quality of the product.
Videogames are different because the standard for their visuals and animations go up every year and that affects the overall product. Videogames are a mesh between several ways to express something, a mesh of different media. Sound, video, animations, graphics, writing, even controls.
That's why it's harder to get into an old game, because it has several things that will eventually get old and aged and they all do it at a varied level (example, graphics could be quite cool even by today standards but animations could be quite bad).
There's also the whole silicon valley deal which affects animation and 3d models. That explains why it's easier to get into old 2D games.

The first game, not the second one. I am thinking of buying it. However, if the graphics are too crappy I don't think I will be able to get into it. Supposedly, it's one of the best games ever. Thoughts?
EDIT (2/25) - I bought it. I shall see if it lives up to the hype.
