I would agree but I'm able to run DX HR, Cod MW3, Batman AC and so on smooth.

So I would say they did not optimized it pretty well ;)

If you have NVIDIA graphic card - try to force the game to use your NVIDIA card instead of the integrated one (right click on desktop and enter NVIDIA Control Panel). Have same shit with my laptop and this solution helped me.

It has actually been a while since a DLC popped up for Magicka. and there has only been 2 DLC like this one, the first being Vietnam and the other The Stars are left. The others have been more like small additions and mostly PvP stuff.
