Just wondering what your number 1 rarest achievement on steam is.

Mine is Elitist from Torchlight 2. Says only 1% of the players have it.

If you really like the game, complete it once more and write down (or memorize) places where you often die or have problems (like Hotel :) ). Actually there aren't very many of them. Then choose these exact levels and practice a bit. After this you should be able to finish the game with low amount of deaths. The good thing is that the game is rather short, so you need only about 30-50 minutes to finish it (if I remember correctly).

This whole game is a place where I die often... And it's not because I don't know what to do or where to jump or something unexpected happened (well, all those reasons too, actually), but because I jump too early or too late. Always. I love platformers, but I suck at them

Well, then this is a problem :) Still all the problems you mentioned come down to some more practice. Good luck if you decide to try!

have it too, it was damn hard to get.. but also a great satisfaction in the end :D
now trying to do the equivalent in Schein (there are 2, 'less than 100' and 'less than 50 deaths'), and I think it's even harder than the Limbo one.. :D

Mine is Tank Killer from Painkiller Hell and Damnation (only 0.6% of players have it), which is weird since is a really easy achievement. That proves that people didnt played Heaven's Above DLC and that is just sad.

^ Pretty much the same case for mine.

All it really requires is that one of your party members is a Rogue or Rogue-hybrid.
I was a Shadowblade when Boyfriend and I played through it, and by the time we got there I had plenty enough Dex and Pickpocketing to do The Thing.. despite trying to put everything into the Mage-y aspects of a Shadowblade.

It wasn't difficult by any means, you just get it from pickpocketing a specific NPC. But apparently nobody else played a Rogue, or knew it was a thing? =p

It's really weird, currently in global statistics said 0.1% and in my profile says 0.13%. Perhaps not show the numbers that follow after the ".1"

Achievements were added/enabled after it left early access. I think if you launch, it will automatically unlock.

But achievement unlocking happens mostly after you exit game, for some reason.

ah, just like with The Binding of Isaac, except there it unlocked after you started the game again, at least it was like that for me.

I've seen people argue they used it to unlock "broken" achievements that should have clicked but didn't but in general I obviously agree.

Broken achievements are broken for everybody. Unlocking them by external software is obviously cheating.

Permalink

Because some have an OCD of wanting to have a perfect game which is otherwise impossible to get because of a broken achievement, because some devs don't care, some are broken for years.
I have used it only for that and yeah it's noted on astats i used SAM.
It's not showing off or doing it proudly to me atleast it was to fix something that was otherwise broken and i know for myself what achievements i truely gotten.
Probably I wouldn't have done it now, but i doubt you can really go appeal at astats.

It's not cheating because it will be noted on astats and you are only helping yourself (or not) with SAM.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Sure. You have an OCD.
Sure. Unlocking in-game content using external software is not hacking nor cheating.
Sure. It's totally fair to all the players who are unlocking the achievements fair and square.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Broken achievements cannot be gained by anyone, and people are marked who used SAM so it's unfair how exactly?

Plus it's not really IN game content, Sam is not making you play in god mode or get you unlimited money, while some games show the steam achievements in game, it really is a steam overlay thing.

Civ V, let's see, win at least 100 games, including every type of Victory, so turning on the time limit to 10 turns will not help you. It gives about 3 minutes per game during which you need to buy at least 10 plots, build 10 roads, cut 10 forests and build 10 temples.

Sounds legit.

I also saw a guy who maxed out FF8 in 3 minutes. Also sounds legit.
