Hey, don't know what to watch tonight so, just wondering what is your favorite movie(s) ?
My pick would be Fight Club and/or The Pursuit of Happyness.

Also here is my list from last year for some not that well known good movies:

I'm gonna go with Shaun of the Dead, I love every single second of that movie and never get tired or bored from watching it over and over again.

My other favourites include; The English Patient, Schindler's List, In Bruges, Hot Fuzz, Whiplash, Pay it Forward, Billy Elliot, Bang Bang You're Dead, Memento, Fight Club, American History X, Hunger, Hannibal, The Machinist, Donnie Darko, Seven Psycopaths, The Moon, Se7en, The Usual Suspects (in no particular order).

There are probably more but I can't really remember the names :P

This reply will get edited a lot cause I keep remembering the names :D

I should have, Hot Fuzz is my 2nd most favourite comedy movie of all times. I forgot many movies I love though. Just looking at a reply below mine I realised I also forgot Donnie Darko. I'll edit the reply :D

In Bruges is literally the only time I have ever enjoyed watching Colin Farrell.

I strongly suggest Seven Psychopaths (oh look another movie I forgot to add to my initial list). Colin Farrell is quite good in it but the main attraction is Sam Rockwell and movie is really funny :D

Many great movies have been already mentioned. I`ll go in a different way and mention 2 movies from my top 50. Simply due to a specific genre (mindf***s): Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Donnie Darko

I barely ever watch movies. I liked Hot Fuzz though. The Matrix was good as well.

This is tough, I used to say "the original Star Wars trilogy" then for awhile I said "the Lord of the Rings trilogy". Honestly I can't pick a favorite film out of the hundreds I've seen over my lifetime.

2 of my recent favorites were Coherence and Sound of My Voice. Both will mess with your head in a fun way, Check them out if that's your kind of thing but if you don't like to be challenged by the film you're watching, definitely not for you.

Gattaca.

No other movie concerns me emotionally like this. My most favorite movie since I've seen it for the first time around 15 years ago. Glad somebody else posted it already :)

Other great movies I do also like: Blade Runner, The Fabulous Life of Amélie Poulain, Memento, Mullholland Drive, Matrix, LOL, Bin-Jip, Black Swan, 30 Days of Night, Only God Forgives, Fight Club, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Spirited Away

Three-way tie of Tarkovsky's Stalker, Ghost in the Shell, and the first three Bourne movies.
Yeah, I know, that's five. I can't pick one, and I consider the Bourne movies a set.

I like Stalker because of its ties to the fantastic Roadside Picnic and Stalker games. It's slow, but its thoughtful and beautiful.

I also like Ghost in the Shell because it's thoughtful and beautiful (especially the original, non-CGIed version), but I also love cyberpunk. Didn't like Innocence.

The first three Bourne movies are wonderful, always moving, neat choreography, good story, good acting. Hated Legacy for pacing, story, and acting problems, and because they completely undid the nice wrapping up Ultimatum did. Haven't seen Jason Bourne and don't really want to.

Strugatsky FTW! "Hard to be a God" and "Roadside Picnic" are my favorites.
Edit:
I mean the novels, not the films.

Yes, Ghost In The Shell, one of the things that inspired The Matrix films and so much live-action cyberpunk sci-fi. Classic.

I am also in love with STALKER Games, Ghost in the Shell (also mainly the first), Akira, Blade Runner, Cyperpunk in general,

I am tied with Tarkovsky's Stalker however, watched it recently and was kinda excited to do so, definitely worth watching and thinking about but... no way, it would be one of my favorites. Still need to read Roadside Picnic, it's lying on my shelf. Have only watched the first Bourne movie so far, maybe I should catch up with the other ones.

Favorite movie for me is Gattaca :)

The series is not really given the credit it deserves, especially for injecting a nice dose of European style surrealism into American genre cinema.

My top 10:

Interstellar
There Will Be Blood
Pulp Fiction
The Big Lebowski
Fight Club
Inception
Perfect Blue
The Shining
Oldboy
Seven

And that's a tough list to narrow down! It still doesn't include some favourites like Blade Runner, Leon, Princess Mononoke, Drive, Memento, Eternal Sunshine, Lost in Translation, Pan's Labyrinth, Nightcrawler...

I've never seen Wings of Desire which you recommended. I'll give it a try. What other favourites do you have?

Most of my other favorites are already mentioned in the thread (most of them from you :P). but I like "The Green Mile", The Silence of the Lambs, The Skeleton Key (a really underrated movie in my opinion), The Professional, Klopka (and others Serbian films, Serbs have amazing cinema), most of the films with Louis de Funes. There are many more, but somehow these are the only ones that come to my mind right now. :)

Silence of the Lambs is a great one, good call. Green Mile was good too, so I guess I need to add The Skeleton Key to my watchlist now!
