If you could instantly learn a language, which one would you pick?

If I didn't know Russian I would pick it. But for now I would pick German. Beautiful language. I wish I learned it properly in school ... but i didn't :(

Now that is one interesting poll, seeing the options, I was very tempted to pick "English (any accent)", because even though, I think, my English is pretty decent I'm not a native speaker and it would be so cool to be able to speak it perfectly, like a native speaker. In the end I picked Russian, but Chinese would probably have been just as fine. Neither sounds particularly pretty to my ears (no offense intended), but they'd both be very useful when applying for a spy job. It would be so cool to go and spy on people by speaking a language nobody expects you to ;-)

Apart from that, I should mention that my native language is German and I was quite surprised that quite a few people picked that option. I also speak a bit of French and Indonesian,

I would pick Irish! I had hard time trying to learn it first at the University and then on my own.

Japanese because I am a fan of Yoko Tsuno, a Belgian comic with a Japanese heroin. And besides, it would be great for the fanarts of my favorite couples in manga, anime or for doujinshis.
