Hi Steamgifters,

I'm giving away a copy of Life Is Strange - Complete Season, for those who have played (and, ideally, finished) episode 1, who wants to acquire episodes 2-5 and finish the game.
To be eligible for the GA, you need to do the following...

  • Show proof that you've played episode 1. Be it giving me your achievement link, giving me screenshots link, giving me your impression of parts of episode 1, blabla, whichever you have that you think will convinces me that you've played.
  • Convince me you want to play episodes 2-5 because you enjoyed episode 1.
  • Promise you'll start playing the game within 1 month of winning. And follow through.

Post in the comments, and I will read and pick a number of people who convinced me to give the GA link to.

Why? you asked.
I played Life is Strange, got tear farmed by the game (I cry easily T.T), and wants to share the experience with someone who would enjoy it.

The GA ends on April 1st. I will give out the giveaway link until April 1st. (Which means, yes, you may be invited to join if you start playing ep1 now, which is free on Steam)
I'll give out the link by inviting you to a group which will contain the GA link. Yes, it's convoluted. But it's an invite-only giveaway, and I don't want to change my Steam friend list.
If you're in the Actually Playing Game group, you get a free pass. Just check the group forum.
Life is Strange is also on sale on humble bundle store for $4.99!

Edit: I'm happy that there are quite a few people commented on their interest. Just, please, when you comment, don't neglect any of the 3 requests above, especially the last 2. Those are as important to me as, if not more than, just showing your achievements of episode 1.

Worth playing?

Yes! I have it, and it's on my to-play list!
Yes! I don't own it yet but one day...
No. I tried playing it, but wouldn't finish it.
No. Won't touch. Not my type of game.
Life is What? What's this nonsense?
I idled the game for cardz. D:
Life is Potato... Which is strange indeed.

My achievements showing I finished episode 1, it seems over a year ago! http://store.steampowered.com/app/319630/
I definitely want to play the rest, but...I'm a cheapskate, so I was waiting for at least 80% off :D. If I win, I'll have to take a little refresher with Episode 1 again, though...that cliffhanger....

Here is the achievement: http://steamcommunity.com/id/liverbroken/stats/319630/?tab=achievements

To be honest, I wouldn't play it; I didn't play the first episode for very long. But my girlfriend played through it, and it is the only game she has been able to stick out. She doesn't really enjoy gaming but she played through this (and it took quite a while). This, co-op octodad and a little bit of Limbo are the only things that have made her pick up a controller, which I'd like to see happen more often!

I watched a playthrough. It was decent but it had a limited amount that it was working with, and the writing is, indeed, a bit odd. No, sorry, very odd.

Hi, I´ve a problem, when I start something I can´t leave it unfinished. Having said that, I´m currently playing God Eater Resurrection and then have to continue with GE2, which means that won´t be able to touch Life is Strange till then.
I would love to play it but having only the first episode, I can´t and won´t play it till I know I will be able to continue with the following chapters, I couldn´t live with that, tried with DarkSiders and still can´t accept the fact that there is never gonna be a third part.
I sincerely hope this convices you and I promise to make a review of every chapter and then, tell you my opinion of the story.

Hi! Thanks for an honest description. I'm specifically looking for people who has played the first episode and feel that they want to continue playing knowing what the game has to offer. I do hope that eventually you'll be able to gain access to the subsequent chapters and enjoy the game! :)

I like this idea of selecting people with an interest to actually play the game!
I might copy it and adapt it slightly to fit my needs for the coming sale...

Although I didn't pass your requirements this time :(
If I accepted the free season 1 on steam and ended up enjoying it, I would be forced to purchase the rest immediately.
And I only really buy games when there is a sale.
Yes I like to maximize the purchasing power of my money.

However then I saw "Actually Playing Games" group members got a free pass.
It is GOOD to cut lines occasionally. :)

Have a bump and a heart.

Doh! I guess my reading comprehension is pretty much non-existent now...

I am incredibly tempted to buy it outright but am unemployed and can't do so right now. I've wanted a game with such decision based gameplay for years and loved this. Can't wait for the next chapters.

I will play it within a month of getting it, should I win.

Great game and recently I recalled this, so coincidental.

I'll use spoiler tag, if I miss it somehow - my post contains full spoiler, skip it.

The Bae ending sucks, really. Stupid Dontnod. Although they're trying hard to make it equal, it's not. The other ending (saving Bay) is much more polished production wise. I really don't like this half-assed approach. They should've patched this ending.

And no, I still refuse to save the damn town. Those thousand people can't help you in need, your friend will (or bae) such as Chloe.

As long as you show that you've played through episode 1, it's enough (which your achievement list is).
From your previous post, I'm hoping to see more explanation on point 2 of my list, about what part of episode 1 you enjoyed that makes you want to play the rest of the game. :)

Well, I loved how many little details were interactive (technically like a point & click), but there were so many interactions with the other NPC characters that I really felt like I was in my own movie. I loved all the minor characters to interact with (someone just sitting on the campus lawn.) Furthermore, if my choices lead to different scenarios, I really felt like I am driving the story, instead of just watching it develop. And yet, there are so many other characters (like in RL) who are participating with their own decisions.

If I were to win the GA, I would definitely get through the remaining episodes within the week to see where this was all leading. I have plenty of time right now to devote to finishing the series.

Thanks for the great event, it's a text of wall from a un-native speaker so please bear with me!

1.Achievement link, just finished ep1 because of this event, I needed a accuse to start anyway, it was fun and the flashback mechanic was very unique and feels satisfying, oh boy I wished I had the power IRL.

2.I've always heard positive reviews about the game so I've even bought the season pass myself at Square Enix Thanksgiving sale! Unfortunately I was super busy last year so I had to gave away the gift to my blue hearts. But this year after joining the BALEO I found the way to organize my precious spare time and fight through the backlog!
I took about 4 hours to finish the first episode, because I'm like a collector and has the need to interact with all the items on the map before I go on, and boy the details in this game is well polished, all those posters and notes on the hallways make you feel like you're back in the school days, like some poster noted his backpack and iPad was stolen and there was like another note that was mocking him or her (5gigs of cat pics :p), even the diary is well designed I can feel the anxiety coming out of it. The camera movement was so clever I sat on Max's bed for like 3 mins really feeling the lazy break after so much chaos happening, I wonder if they really have a college girl in the production team! Although everything feels so refreshing and bright, there's some hints and symbolic links so I would be very happy if I can have the chance to win this gem! I just hope it won't be a downside from here!

3.We have a four day break known as Qingming Festival starting from Apr 1st, so I'll definitely have a night or two to enjoy this game!

Achievements are here http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197989139441/stats/319630/?tab=achievements.

-At the start of the game I was one of those people who couldn't figure out how to look at the photo in the class room.
-In the hallway I just wanted to find out what happened to Rachel (So many posters). I thought it was the teacher, then the security guard or Kate.
-By then end I didn't care about Rachel and thought "shit that tornado is going to hit in 4 days".
-I wonder if you can actually get rid of the joint in Chloe's room.
-The only spot I didn't explore was in the lighthouse.
-The credits were long but I'm happy I read through them because to my surprise lots of French Canadians in the credits.
To end this ramble of bullet points. I would play the other chapters because the stupid game doesn't didn't answer anything in the first chapter and just game me more questions of WTF is going on. Especially that scene where Chloe is on the tracks.
-Also the choice screen for global and friends is a nice touch to let you know how many options there really are.

Thanks a lot :D I must have missed that. I wonder if it's related to the Everday Heroes Contest or if that's a fixed part of the story that Max doesn't hand in a picture. (Contrary to my other question, this is a rhetorical question since I hope to find out myself someday on my 2nd playthrough.)

WOAH! Thank you so much for letting me know EP1 is free! I remember seeing this back in 2015 and wanting it but couldn't pay the $20 at the time. Thanks to you I played EP1 today and wow this story is so good. It's so emotional. I love seeings the choices at the end and comparing them with other people (BTW where was Dana's pregnancy test? I'm in the 95% that didn't touch it but I didn't even notice it... wouldn't have touched it anyway.

My achievements: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Hintswen/stats/319630/achievements/
I missed optional photo 3 and 4, took a little break before photo 5 I think it was I will definitely be going back to try get the 2 photos I missed, just not right now because my eyes are too watery! I would love a chance to win EP2-5 of this amazing game.

Hi, I played and finished episode 1 (proof here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/ghidy/stats/319630/?tab=achievements )
I am a big fan of adventure games (point&click but not only) and I really enjoyed this one: characters, story, graphics and soundtrack ( I even listen to this soundtrack in my car). So, because it's a great game and I really want to play the next episodes as soon as possible.

Um. Looking at my backlog i think it's additional reason to believe me when i say i want to play that game - though i have quite large backlog i still found time to finish and i got all achievements from episode 1. Though i'm not really into girl kissing girl. Unfortunately i've missed price bug - they fixed it when i had game in basket already. Well. I've tried to win it for quite a bit of time. Time... Travel... Thingy.

Totally missing the option "I have finished it, but was utterly disappointed with the ending".
Can't say much more without possible spoilers ... read on at your own risk.
And no, I don't mind sad endings. It's just not what they advertised ... your choices did not matter in the end

  3. I get to my wins as soon as I can and I'm a perfectionist (you can see that by my completion rate). If I get a chance to enter and end up winning, I'll put it to download immediately and complete the whole thing, so you don't have to worry about that. :)

It's been literally a year since I played it, so I don't remember much. I just enjoyed it overall. I loved the ability to rewind, which is something I had not seen in other games before, and of course the ability to make your own choices, which is something that I love in games, not only because it has consequences on the story, but also because it adds a great replayability value. And I also liked the story, really intrigued to find out how it ends.
