I just wanna say that it's a really awesome game! :D I played it fully and I loved it! The last episode wasn't much of my liking though. But anyway, people, you have a great chance here, so don't lose this chance. ;P Thank you for doing this, YukinNya.

At the end of Episode 4 right now. No tear has been shed so far but there was a pretty extreme WTF moment.

Well, maybe I got a little teary-eyed out of excitement when you go back into Chloe's past to save her father which also leads to the WTF moment I was referring to assisting your best friend with suicide. From what I've seen so far (just arrived at the barn where Kate was raped after the Vortex party but haven't started investigating yet) it's very touching just not in a All is sad kind of way.

Didn't know that there are a Director Commentary. Must have a look since I loved playing this game

i really want to protect kate!
i want the rest of the season to see how else i can help the poor bullied kate. shes adorably cute and i just cant stop this feeling of wanting to help/defend/protect her
as for actually playing it. i have been defeating my backlog recently starting from my most recent wins since back then i entered for games i was only slightly interested in.
but have since changed my ways, entering only for games i want to play. no longer account bloating +1 with games like from indiegala.
and even finished a game from my backlog just last night, "Through the woods" from Legnar
these story episode games are easy for me to get into and to not leave behind because i get so engaged into it

The more interesting and unforgettable bits of the story are in eps 2-5. If any of you lost interest after playing ep 1 which is mostly just intro stuff, you should really see the rest of the story through to the end. Also, the soundtrack is pretty awesome and fits the game nicely!

I tried to play it via family sharing, but then they gave episode 1 for free and now I can't play it anymore (can't even continue with my old save)
Really enjoyed the bit I played and would like to continue it

I think what he's getting at, is the exact same reason I haven't played episode 1 yet. Some people don't like playing episodes of games if they can't play the entire game at once. But regardless, OP made his rules for a reason, he wants to ensure people will play the game so... Who are we to argue.
Comment has been collapsed.
Exactly, on both cases!
I waited with Telltale games to get the full season to play if I was sure that it's good and that I'm interested, and I intend to do the same with Life is Strange. And as the other side of the coin - if OP doesn't like this, it's their giveaway, they have all the rights to do keep it to their words about properly playing E1

Yeah, +1 I'm the type to like to read/watch/play an entire game/shows at my own pace cuz cliffhangers suck and I forget things or lose interest midway easily if it gets to a boring part(this is usually break time). Having to play episode 1 is a fair request though, but not me of course :) pass but thanks for the chance.

You actually think it is too much to ask for people who would like to enter this GA to have played Episode 1 so the game might go to somebody who has at least a vague interest in it ?

I did play and love the first episode. The game is awesome - the story, the atmosphere, the feeling, the gameplay... Plus I really enjoy games with decision-making, so it's easily the best game of its genre :) I suck at convincing someone about something, but I'd very much appreciate the chance to play chapters 2 - 5.

I thoughtfully made my choices and hope that their is a decent tree of scenarios that stem from them.
It only shows 6 achievements for me because I did not want to wander all over the decision tree searching for achievements.
2 Life is Strange is STILL installed on my computer--not so much that I NEED to finish it, but that I enjoyed the experience so far.
3 I promise that I will continue and play the subsequent episodes. STILL installed and ready to go.

Life Is Strange, Episode One Achievements
Life Is Strange is a very well put-together game (if episode one is any indication). Once upon a time I played the first adventure games on PC (the Zork series, for instance) while later I moved on to the first shooters (Wolfenstein, Doom I & II, Hexen, etc.), then RPGs (Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape, among others). Though, to one degree or another I still enjoy those types of games, my appreciation of them (whether they are good or "eh") has dropped considerably. I've played D&D (the pen & paper version, that is) since the mid-1980s while still in single digits as far as my age. Sure, at first it was MAGIC! MONSTERS! and THE WONDER OF PSEUDO-MEDIEVAL FANTASY!
Yes, I still like all of those things about D&D—and I've picked up other ALL CAPS-BOLD WORDS! to go along with the first set—yet I've found that the most important of the keywords that I picked up later were STORY! TONE! ATMOSPHERE! and SETTING! (beyond the basics of fantasy or whatnot).
In my opinion—for whatever that may be worth—episode one showed me that this game has ALL! of those keywords... unless they shoved them all into the first episode and the following four become standard shooter types.
Lastly, I know I don't have all the achievements. I don't care about them as they do not contribute to any game I've ever played. Nor were they necessary before the first incarnation of achievements were introduced (which, I believe, was the Star Wars Galaxy MMO that was destroyed by DA MAN! shortly after launch, however, it did hang around for quite some time) to play, enjoy, or complete a game.
Anyhoo, I don't know if I've convinced you of how much I enjoyed episode one (not to be confused with the Star Wars prequel trilogy) or how much I desire to play the rest of the game. I sort of communicated all that, for the most part, by talking about other types of games. This took a lot of focus for me for some reason. :/
Cheers!
PS: I solemnly swear to do no good... er... I mean that I solemnly swear to begin playing (if I win a copy, you generous b@stard) as soon as episodes 2-5 are finished downloading via my slow connection and begin playing again IMMEDIATELY! after the installation is complete (if I'm still awake... and alive).

... unless they shoved them all into the first episode and the following four become standard shooter types.
Acutally episode 2 turned into a serious-sam-style fps, epi 3 is a bungee-jumping simulator, epi 4 focused on reverse-gravity boat racing, and epi5 is a turn-based survival horror (intriguing, isn't it?).
But yes, definitely worth playing for the story, tone, and atmosphere.

Sigh. I actually had a reply for your quip that, perhaps, you would've liked, that centered around the Riddick movies: How the first was a survival/horror, the second an action/adventure, and how (immediately after seeing the second one) I wanted the shifting genres of the newly forming franchise to continue that trend in to (essentially) uncharted territory with, say, action/comedy, action/comedy/romance. Obviously, the franchise didn't do this, instead, following (more or less) the standard formula for movies. I believe that it could have been done very well and been just as successful or, perhaps, moreso.
I don't know if this is a general bug with comments on this site or not, but when I reply to a reply and click on something from the eSG Toolbar, my entire reply is replaced with my original post with whatever I clicked on from the toolbar at the beginning. So, this reply is a bit less inspired, lol.
Cheers!

Hi Steamgifters,
I'm giving away a copy of Life Is Strange - Complete Season, for those who have played (and, ideally, finished) episode 1, who wants to acquire episodes 2-5 and finish the game.
To be eligible for the GA, you need to do the following...
Post in the comments, and I will read and pick a number of people who convinced me to give the GA link to.
Why? you asked.
I played Life is Strange, got tear farmed by the game (I cry easily T.T), and wants to share the experience with someone who would enjoy it.
The GA ends on April 1st. I will give out the giveaway link until April 1st. (Which means, yes, you may be invited to join if you start playing ep1 now, which is free on Steam)
I'll give out the link by inviting you to a group which will contain the GA link. Yes, it's convoluted. But it's an invite-only giveaway, and I don't want to change my Steam friend list.
If you're in the Actually Playing Game group, you get a free pass. Just check the group forum.
Life is Strange is also on sale on humble bundle store for $4.99!
Edit: I'm happy that there are quite a few people commented on their interest. Just, please, when you comment, don't neglect any of the 3 requests above, especially the last 2. Those are as important to me as, if not more than, just showing your achievements of episode 1.
