It works everywhere. The RU tag is probably due to licensing rights and the RU copy only has English and Russian languages. But the tagless one has more languages.

Thanks, everyone i googled just say don't get it, it's locked, developers confirmed, but im just playing it right now normally. And who cares about language i use English everywhere anyway.

I just checked the language and both have only English listed. The RU tag is probably licensing or to prevent people from trading which is ridiculous because the prices aren't much different.

RU - Russia
CIS - Common Wealth of Independent States - a number of other post Soviet countries.
Obviously Torchlight II RU + CIS can be bought in CIS countries only.

I know what CIS means and i know what RU means but i don't know where did you found Torchlight II RU + CIS version, this version is bought in ru and gifted, and just say RU no CIS tag on it.

I am not sure about TL 2 RU version. It could exist because it could be purchased in RU and CIS region. However, on steam store page, there is nothing mentioning
the RU or CIS region lock or playable region or giftable region or something like that. So I assume that there is no region lock for TL2 wherever you purchase from steam store. Mostly, purchase made in US, UK, EU might be WW version contains multi languages like En, Fr, Ru, Pl, ect. RU version sometimes only has RU language but most of games of RU version have EN language. Those are my personal experience.

It was region locked before it was released. I traded a game with a Russian and got a RU one in return and the Russian store had NO indication that it was region locked. After many people complained, they removed the region restriction.

Please don't attack me with explanations about restriction and don't get it and search first, because i searched and now im worried because i got copy with RU tag and i activated it than i saw may threads don't get it.
But actually no one explained what is the difference. It seems that it works for me fine. I registered runic account linked game from steam to runic activated gift normally on steam, installed, played online and it seems that everything works normal without any restrictions.
So can anyone tell me the difference between RU and not RU tagged Torchlight II. That info i can't find anywhere.
