So ive been thinking i need some MMO to kill some time into , but i kinda cant seem to find one that catch my atention .

I prolly spent ~ 15-20k hours into lineage 2 , so im confident in playing that ... but off server is just a disaster and i cant seem to find a decent low to mid rate server to play :/

Vindictus was fun , played for few months once the game started ... then i kinda hot max level and got tired to w8 for patches so i dropped it ...
Tried playing it recently but for some reason my eevee wasnt really working properly :c
Couldnt cast spells or anything , and support ignored me for a month ... still if no other option may go back to it again anyway D:

Tera , never really made that game work for me ... for some reason i couldnt install it properly on my old pc so no experience at all with it :c
I wanted to play the half naked demon ladies tho >.< Or the bunny girlz D:

Aion ... according to steam reviews its completely pay 2 win so ... yeah D:

So yeah , im open for suggestions here , be it a server for Lineage .... a reason why i should pick one of the other 3 .... or a brand new MMORPG which doesnt suck :)

Something similar to All L2 Aion and Tera should be fine .

PS Gibs will be added to the first comment once i come back from the store >.>

I've since quit the original ragnarok but i spent 10 years playing it, mainly for WoE. I played the beta of Tree Of Savior but it couldn't keep me playing unlike the original ragnarok.

most important aspect in mmo is the theme that matches your taste. seems like you're after a bit more of a sci-fi mmo and less of a fantasy type mmo. tbh, it's the category i know the least so i wouldn't be of any real help. but second important part is its payment model. whether it's full on f2p, or free but subscription based, or paid without sub, or paid game with sub. and the final important part being whether it's pay2win geared at all or improperly gear balanced.

anyways, good luck finding that perfect for you mmo. xD

Problem in finding the perfect mmo is that i like the shiny stuff they tend to add into them ( as microtransactions ...)

I played some okayish mmo recently , spent solid 20-30 hours over a week and i enjoyed it alot .

Then i saw that guy with that flying pegasus that was shitting rainbow behind it and a sparkly trail from its wings ... so im like okay im Sold i need one of those .

So i chase that guy in town for solid 15 minutes , finally get his attention and just politely ask him how can i get the Pony of awesomeness .

Hes like , uh that thing is from the something something even 2 years ago , now you cannot really buy 1 anymore ... but you can go on the black market ( aka RMT ) and get one for ~500$ ...

So yeah i may have just uninstalled the game right after .

Thanks for the wishes tho , i hope i find something sattisfying :P

One of my favorite MMO was FFXI, and I'm playing FFXIV since almost 2 years (one of the best actually in my opinion)

Guild Wars 2 was fine but... I don't know, only played 2-3 month, something was wrong (and I've prefered the 1st one).

I'm actually testing The Elder Scrolls Online and... after 6 hours of play, it seems decent :)

Rift was good too in my memory.

The choice is yours, and there's plenty of them and one of the best way to pick one is to test it ! ^^

Elder scrolls is a no go , i just cannot handle that game :/

I may actually try guild wars ( it seems its free to play now .... for quite some time ... ) somehow i missed that part D:

Tho i guess it seems most ppl recommend me the Final Fantasy MMO so i may go with it .

Question is , is there a way to test the game for few hours w/o buying it ... or there is no guest passes and stuff :c ?

Steam and Retail are not compatible with each other.
The only advantage you get on Steam is ability to pay with Steam Wallet.
If you buy the Steam Version, you must buy the Expansion on Steam.
The Forum is very active and friendly so if you have questions, pop a thread.
Also Retail is cheaper than Steam.

You need the expansion only when you reached level 50. There is no disadvantage in buying it later when you need it. Base game and expansion are currently on sale at GreenManGaming.

NO NO AND NO.

p2w game

also one of the worst games ever for PvP.

basically you are 1 lever lower of your opponent = you die
you buy the outfit that make you invisible name = you hide in a plant wait for someone walk near attack = you win.

you want to grind during days/ weeks the same 10 mobs???? then buy it
you want to die 99% of time due you are lower level than your oponnent in PvP = buy it
you want to die because they buy the outfit that hide the name???? then buy it

you want pass funny time whit a game??? DON'T BUY THAT SHIT GAME.

yep i played a lot this game what a waste of time and money, also what i mentioned it's 100% true, it's not i'm noob in PvP etc.... it's a fact what i said and all people that play this game will tell you.

don't accept recommendations of games from people that don't played the game, it's easy recommend a game when you not played but it's the worst you can do.

right now, all the new MMO are just pure grind grind grind grind grind all day the same quests all day the same things.
bored as hell.

how others said warframe it's the "most" diferent game, it's pure grind but it feels a bit diferent due it's a shooter and you can move how you want etc... however it's a pure grind game.

i can recommend patch of exile (played more than 1K hours from release and counting steam hours too) but don't play on hardcore neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. however this game it's high grind, and triyng to make 6L items can make you quit the game, expect a lot of regrets and rage when using the currency for make better gear.

all the decent games are a bit old right now and the population can be really low... so i don't recommend this type of games whit low population.

AVOID THE NEXT GAMES AT ANY PRICE:
archeage
blade and soul
black desert

at finish all new MMO are pure grind, but not like a olds games where the grind was funny and rewarding, the actual games just make you stay playing for barely any reward of grind during hours/days.

it's a shame........

basically you are 1 lever lower of your opponent = you die (not really i can kill friend with 2lvl diff, gear is what matter)
you buy the outfit that make you invisible name = you hide in a plant wait for someone walk near attack = you win. (i hate this one, but same effect is achievable with crouching)
you want to grind during days/ weeks the same 10 mobs???? then buy it (he say "I prolly spent ~ 15-20k hours into lineage 2" soo grinding isnt bad thing for him (lineage is grindfest as well :D )
you want to die 99% of time due you are lower level than your oponnent in PvP = buy it (its skill and equip that matter the most, level diff was "nerfed" as i know)
you want to die because they buy the outfit that hide the name???? then buy it (please tell me how hidden name make player super OP...really tell me, the fact you dont have visible name doesnt make you immortal or boost your damage to heaven, if you suck costume doesnt magicaly boost you to heaven -,- )

Just know that gw2 is vastly different from the rest mmorpg games.
Actually, this is done on purpose to eliminate annoyances.
I am not saying it is perfect but don't judge it before understanding it.
2 advices.
Do not rush. The game is not about your level. Enjoy the lvl up process.
Check the Guild wars 2 manifesto video to give you a better understanding of the game mechanics and ask here or on reddit gw2 or in game if you need anything.

Until the 22nd there is a 50% sale on the expansion (offers 6 new maps, new classes, raids and more) plus removes any "free account limitations)

Enjoy!

Don't listen to Mr. Saltypants.

Black Desert Online is such an amazing game. I played it for six months like non-stop but had to stop playing because it was just consuming too much of my time. Yeah, the grind was real... so what. Most games have a grind. What made this game really fun was the combat system. It was all action, no standing around and exchanging blows and mashing a bunch of keys for hotbars. It's all based upon movement, timing, and combos. PvP was fun too, particularly the Node Wars. Yeah, there were times we faced guilds with higher levels and geared players, but even then we still fought on and had fun.

Horse Breeding! Yeah, I'll admit it sucked trying to breed t6+ horses and ending up with t5. However it was cool that it was something that could be done. Getting a fast horse though was so worth it. Fishing, meh... not my thing but many people spent hours actively trying to fish and then would leave their character logged in for AFK fishing.

There were so many things you could do while AFK, like fishing, horse training, weight training... this was the first MMO where they actually encouraged you to stay logged in even if you were AFK. So before I went to bed, I would make sure all of my workers were set and then empty my bag and get ready to fish or setup a route for horse training. I would go to bed and the first thing I would do when I woke up was check on my workers and sell all my fish, do some crafting, etc. Then go to work. Then come home, check on everything. Maybe play for 4-6 hours, then do the whole AFK thing again. It was crazy. That's why I had to stop playing the game. I haven't been backed because I'm worried it will suck me right back in. I would let it too.

That does sound interesting , tho the whole afk element make me want to think that i MAY invest abit to much time into that game D:

I got offered a guest pass for it so i will totally try it out for atleast 2 days x 3-4 hours and see how it goes .

Thank you for sharing your opinion bout the game and the great feedback :)

TERA isn't that bad as a Free Player; could be worse at any rate (Archeage...)

WildStar might also be what you're looking for, and isn't bad since going F2P, though the population is still low.

Neverwinter is also worthy of a mention, though it suffers a bit in the P2W category.

RIFT is good if you're looking for something WoW-like, though it too becomes unfortunately P2W at the endgame.

Or if you want to try something completely different, there's always WAKFU, the turn-based MMORPG.

Defending aden with literally only Christmas trees , and getting 2 weeks ban for it D:
The stupid shit we did in Ventrillo and later team speak ...

Way to much nostalgia with that game , that sadly cant really be recreated anymore cause ppl take games way to serious and dont wana fuck arround anymore :/

What about Defiance and Crimecraft ? Loved those mmo games in their prime, had a good time in WoW on private servers too but those days are in the past. Isnt there also a popular mmo called The Secret World ? Could give that a twirl. There's also Wildstar, I want to play that, how about you?

I played Secret World for a good while during beta and once it came out -- the skill based leveling was interesting, though some of the quest-mission-things were a tad obtuse... overall I'd go back to it if the machine I had that could run it didn't blow up, and my new machine is much lower ended... Since then, the game has gone F2P, but I still get emails about updates they made to the game, so it's probably worth a look, at least.

Also didn't see anyone mention APB Reloaded. I know a bunch of people that play it, but haven't tried it myself.

Realy? Well I hope I can bring myself to playing it someday cause I did want to but it wasn't free, I'm amazed to hear it is now.

And i totally forgot about APB Reloaded, I love that game or I did love because it is great or was great, music, concept, creating and customising yourself and cars, hectic missions, good vs bad, entire cities, awesome shootouts, awesome game plagued by some problems that power the fun factor like hackers as ive heard, Russians I think, P2W (I remember playing with my default starter weapon and it was a horrible expierience in a otherwise cool game.) You should try it, I hope you're very tolerant though.

I tried a lot of MMOs but Aion won my heart over. It's not P2W in my opinion, if you stick around you can get a ton of cool shit from events for free and good gear through doing dungeons. But I'm also not a PVP player, no idea how much time those top ranking invest. The content is even without PVP really good tho. And flying. Fuck yeah.

There is a serious lack of good F2P MMOs imo.

Path of Exile and Warframe (like others said) are the best atm.

Vindictus is doable but the community is sheet. Rift is basically dead, ArcheAge is full of bots and most useful things are behind a subscription. EvE kinda went F2P (more like an unlimited trail) but also there most of the useful stuff are behind a subscription. Also the learning curve is actually a learning cliff.

Blade & Soul and Riders of Icarus made me long back to Vindictus only to be reminded why I left the game in the first place.

I kinda hate to say it, but for me atm the F2P MMORPG I most likely would try is RS07....

Feel free to add me on Steam if you want someone to play Path of Exile or WarFrame. I'm not a pro in either of those games, but I can help you start out.

Path of Exile hits me on the Diablo 2 nostalgia tbh .

Problem is i tried to play it and i just couldnt :| Duno it felt kinda wrong ... cant explain why T.T

Vindictus support is nonexistent ... my character is buged or someshit cause i havent logged for like year and a half + ... some guy told me support may be able to fix it , but i should just make new character ... ( yeah like i can ditch my eeve with 100 and something tittles >.< )

I heard only good stuff about ArcheAge D:
EvE is ... um ... yeah ... i think i have better chance in understanding why woman get angry rather then learning how to play that game .

I didnt initially know what you mean by RS07 , but when i googled it first 5 hits ware sites that sell gold for the game for cash D:

Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback tho !

How far did you go? PoE has a really big slow start until ACT 4 on Normal difficulty. Since until then you most likely miss the most skill gems for your build, also that's the part where the amount of mobs coming towards you start to ramp-up.

Vindictus support is nonexistent ... my character is buged or someshit cause i havent logged for like year and a half + ... some guy told me support may be able to fix it , but i should just make new character ... ( yeah like i can ditch my eeve with 100 and something tittles >.< )

Well, maybe it's the gear or the current skills your Evie currently has?

I heard only good stuff about ArcheAge D:

Suprise suprise.... I was level 52 of 55 (what was the max level at that time, it's probably higher now), until I realised how limited you are in the ways of making money. Labor points which you need to do crafting regenerates really slow as F2P, making you run out very fast (which wasn't a problem for me). The most profitable crafting skill (farming) effectively forces you to buy a home, which only subscribers can do. Or else you need to rely on public farms (which only protect your crops for 24H), or illegal farms (which are unprotected and often griefed).

If you manage to get a subscription with in-game money like I did, you only realise you added another thing on your list to grind for: To keep the subscription rolling. What's worse is the fact if you did not manage to pay for your subscription before your deadline to pay taxes, your home will get demolished. So yeah :/.....

If you managed to find a good MMO out of this topic: Message me, I'm curious what game it will be.

As for vindictus i couldnt cast even level 1 skill . The only thing i could do is use the autoattacks ...
Whenever i tried to charge any Right click skill it just doesnt work , it charges the bar but i cannot release it :|

I was ironical about ArcheAge btw :P

As for finding good MMO ., Final fantasy 14 does seem pretty nice actually , i made trial account played for few hours ..
Its not what i was looking for but its fun .
I also played bout an hour worth of Guild wars 2 , pretty fun for a first time ... cam see myself playing that aswell i guess .
