So ive been thinking i need some MMO to kill some time into , but i kinda cant seem to find one that catch my atention .

I prolly spent ~ 15-20k hours into lineage 2 , so im confident in playing that ... but off server is just a disaster and i cant seem to find a decent low to mid rate server to play :/

Vindictus was fun , played for few months once the game started ... then i kinda hot max level and got tired to w8 for patches so i dropped it ...
Tried playing it recently but for some reason my eevee wasnt really working properly :c
Couldnt cast spells or anything , and support ignored me for a month ... still if no other option may go back to it again anyway D:

Tera , never really made that game work for me ... for some reason i couldnt install it properly on my old pc so no experience at all with it :c
I wanted to play the half naked demon ladies tho >.< Or the bunny girlz D:

Aion ... according to steam reviews its completely pay 2 win so ... yeah D:

So yeah , im open for suggestions here , be it a server for Lineage .... a reason why i should pick one of the other 3 .... or a brand new MMORPG which doesnt suck :)

Something similar to All L2 Aion and Tera should be fine .

PS Gibs will be added to the first comment once i come back from the store >.>

9k hours done so far and im still not bored :p
i see a bunch of people sometimes playing "Riders of Icarus" on steam ... not sure if its okay or not but maybe take a look

Wow, completely forgot about this one. I need to update it but GW2 never gives you a percentage or file size when updating which makes it hard to properly schedule the update. I guess I could always just leave it up all night and see in the morning.

Yeah a bit stupid, updates are mostly between 15-500mb, full game ~29,5gb atm

depending on how they made their update system and your internet connection, it sometimes is faster to just delete the game, then redownload the full client at once. thats what i am doing for ARK survival evolved, they often have big updates, but the whole game is like 7- 9 gb to download, if i know i won't play in a while i uninstall and redownload all in a night before starting again haha

For a new player, this may seem so at the beginning... but after a while you have so much Gold and hardly any reason to spend it
except ... if u like them legendary weapons
of many of the "Gemstore" stuff you'll also get a chance through the normal gameplay...

i played vindictus at beginning then dropped it waiting for maj when i got max leveld too..

tried tera, but like a shitload of person, couldn't installed it properly, i suppose you played in europe and use the downloader of gameforge ? because THEY are the problem.. i can install and play the US version, no installation problem, but 400 - 1000 ms is unplayable in this game where you always have to dodge / time your attack.. i played a bit with my friends using a torrent version of the europe client, but a few updates later it the download fucked up again and i stopped.. wich is a shame i really loved the game, gameplay, the style, the prettyness of the graphics, and that flying whale in the sky :D
just looking at gameforge forum youll see an awful lot of people complaining about their downloader, on the 9 person i personnaly know who played it, 3 had installation trouble and stopped after 1-3 days trying to get in.. in the 10 years of mmo and 22 of video games i have lived, tera - gameforge downloader is equal with gta 5 rockstar downloader at the worst place.

B2P Then... a mmo wich i didn't expected much of it revealed to be a VERY GOOD game : The Secret World. if you like "solo" game, with story, intrigue, mystère, and yet a dynamic gameplay where you have to at least move your ass during fight and not just press a macro key while eating a doughnut, you may want to inform yourself about this game.

F2Pi also tested RIFT wich was very interesting, started playing with a friend, but when he saw that my healer could change his build to be a dps, and in pvp we were equal he rage quitted because he is the kind of person that don't like not being the stronger, thats a childish part of him i dislike but playing a mmo alone can be pretty boring so i went to other games :p it is more classic than the other, less dynamic.

F2P You may want to test "blade and soul" ! if you like asian universe then you may love travelling through the map kicking ass while doing some martial arts :D here is some of my personnal spcreenshot of the game : http://www.hostingpics.net/album/gladio-231977.html the gameplay is very dinamic, and for the pvp there is a lot of counter, stun, dash and other stuff makingthe fight really enjoyable !

B2P if you are a pve player who enjoy roleplay, you may also want to look at black desert online, thats the kind of game you can just spend your time cooking, travelling from town to town to sell goods from an npc to another, go fishing, i usualy don't like fishing in mmo, but in this one i realyl enjoyed crafting my boat, roaming the ocean with my guild mates discovering isles fishing while talking and joking, spent some good times on it

B2P lately the game who have been tooking the most time out of me, is ARK survival evolved, when you enter a tribe and begin to fight for survival, doing spike battle naked on the beach to not let ennemy kill your taming of dino (yes there is dinosaur in ark and you can use them as mount / tool to gather stuff / carryweight etc..) or not sleeping at night to defend the base you took weeks / month to build to be reduce to ashes, it is really thrilling. Its not a "conventionnal" mmo as there is a limit of people per server, but hardcore gamer who enjoy pvp, and have some time on their hand, should like this game :D

i also tried guildwars 2, played 2 weeks, got lvl 80 with full exotic, didn't had much left to do beside world VS world, and get bored... the puzzle jump were fun and an interesting concept id love to see more often in mmo. i don't recommend it, i still don't see why people keep playing it (though there is surely a lot of changes since i played it) some of my friends who played way much than me looked back on it sometimes and wonder why they spent so much time on it, probably the guild was fun :p the same person had the exact same reaction for allods online btw

one i only played as a demo (max lvl : 20 and 15 days of playing) is FFXIV wich had pretty graphics (it had a more "natural" effect i thought a FF games would have, but still was very pretty) and some of my friends playing for years are saying that it is a really good game. sadly it have a monthly subscription and i am too broke and too much of a cheapskate for that :p

well thats the overall of what i have in mind right now, hope it wil help you, and sorry for my english btw

Good to hear im not the only one unable to make Tera work in EU D:

Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback !

I dont think ill play the secret world , jut not my kind of game .
Black desert online looked fun , but i was told the game is kinda sorta imbalanced as fuck D:
blade and soul looks fun for sure , thats added to to play eventually list :)

i installed guild wars 2 , played for like half hour ... its fine i guess ... i can see myself playing that for few weeks :P

So yeah thank you very much for taking your time to write that wall of text , and dont mind your englsh ... everyone speaks broken english on the internet :D

If you ever worked out TERA I'll play with you I'm a noob... still :D My Elin is a maid/school girl lmao.
But if you're looking for something that's sorta interesting I'd suggest Rider of Icarus (you actually get to ride dragons) and Guild Wars 2.
Other than that, if you ever wanna consider hopping into the Strategy x Card Game genre, I'd suggest you to try Shadowverse. I feel like it's a much easier and noob-friendly version of Hearthstone.

Edit: Oh right, I forgot about Marvel Heroes 2016 << That game was fun for a while, if you enjoy the Marvel Universe you'd like it.

As a fellow Tera newbie , what class is good for a total beginer @ the game ... something that can farm solo efficiently and doesnt need insane gear to do so ?

also is it just me or Literally everyone who plays TERA is a grown man playing as a little girl D:

HAHAH I'm not a dude I just like cute things. But I heard that nowadays, most of the player-base uses Elin LOL
I can't really give you advice since I'm a newbie, but my first character was a gunner. I found the class to be really nice, because I love being a dps with nice damage. (I'm almost always the mage in other MMOs, so I thought I should change it up lol :p) The only cons I've found for a gunner is that, because of the gigantic gun they carries, they might be slower at times. So, you really need to rely on your dodge skill quite a lot when the enemy is within melee range.

Other than that, unless you REALLY like being a healer. I would not suggest you play as a priest. It's a very stress-inducing class, especially when you get into random dungeon matching, there are nasty people around.

Im one of those masochist that enjoy playing healers in noob parties :D

Its quite fun to try and chalange yourself to keep a group of idiots alive , even tho they are doing their best to kill themselves :)

I do think that going healer first into a game that i have no experience tho , is the worse idea ever :P

I think i will stick to the mage i made , since i usualy play either a Tank Healer or an Archer and dont really play mages .

Thank you for being so helpfull and sorry for calling you a dude :c

High fives a fellow masochist I feel you on that level dude, I'm a healer in that game. I don't normally play as a healer 'cos I suck at being one, but honestly, I thought I should switch it up, instead of becoming a standard mage that only ever relies on elemental magic. (I prefer necromancy or something else that seems much cooler)

Tanks are so important in that game, especially for priests that easily aggro a buncha adds just by using heal.

No problemo! ^_^

Most mmos sadly tend to drift that way ... gotta keep the players logging in daily so we have stable population .

So lets make daily instances that you kinda sorta MUST do every single day if you want to be on equal footing with the rest of the players :D

Done that for few years in lineage 2 , once Goddes of destruction patch hit >.>

I cant say it bother me to much , but if there is the thing where 2 equally skilled players fight , and 1 of them win cause he spent 500$ on the rmt shop , that turns me away instantly :/

Then again m clan leader in Lineahe 2 had spent close to 12k$ on his hero , so i guess i dont mind them that much as long as they are on my side :D

Thanks for feedback tho appriciated

played L2 for 8+ years.. after another few more, i "tried" the oficial servers when they got F2P, and as most old school players, i think it sucks.. =/

Recently i started looking for a new MMO to bury myself into, just like you are.
Tried a few ones(not long enough tho, maybe 3/4 hours). but as playability, and graphical inmersion the ones i liked the best were FF XIV and Blade and Soul

havent tried Tera as i got the same problem most ppl do installing the game

I guess im just looking for something that dont exist anymore tbh :)

Recreating the nostaliga from playing lieage 2 back in the day is impossible ... and a good server just doesnt seem to exist anymore .
They all seem to last few months and disappear after the population migrate to the next big opening one .

Godddes of destruction was kinda fun for me for awhile ( 2 years lul ) but i do agree it was kinda different game and wasnt really the l2 experience i was looking for .

FF14 seems like something i may get into actually , i tried few hours on the trial account and it does seem quite enjoyable ... Im just not sure if i wana dig myself a grave into jumping into subscribtion based MMO right now :)

I hear A LOT about blade and soul so i guess i will give the game a go once im done testing what i got right now .

As for TERA , I tried yesterday again still couldnt install the EU client .
Someone suggested me to just go play on NA , what i did ... its actually working perfectly fine with close to no lagg .

If you like casual mmo, then absolutely GW2 .... just don't expect too much from it :D
Been playing it since first day, but far from hardcore, even taking months of breaks in between :D (if you need some help, just whisper me - wizzard.1295 :D )

I did try FF XIV free trial, and just couldn't get into it ... missing so many QoL (compared to GW2), graphic and animation is so last decade, story may be interesting but after few levels it just felt clicking "next next next" without any reading, combat system is kinda meh too, not mentioning skill lags (on EU servers within EU :( )

Out of all the F2P games, unfortunately, there is none with a better combat system than Vindictus. As you probably know, every other system there is from mildly to severly lacking, so I'm not sure if going back is a great option. Only if you have a friend to run around with I guess it's a good choice.
Black Desert is actually a great game, as long as you play it just for fun, mainly concentrating on life skills. As it was mentioned here, the race to the top is filled with RNG and not-so-good PvP, not unlike Vindictus, so you can probably tell how that looks like. If that doesn't put you off, I can give you a pass for 7 days to try it out yourself, since an event with those just started.
Path of Exile I can also recommend. As you said it yourself, it is in my eyes the successor to Diablo 2 that Diablo 3 just can't match up to.
Speaking of which, a new D2 ladder is starting on 22.11., so that may be a reason to come back to the game.
I can't really say anything about the newer Final Fantasy games, since I'm also looking forward to trying them out once I get an opportunity.
If TCG are also in your range, HEX: Shards of Fate is a pretty solid choice. Its rules closely resemble Magic the Gathering and are pretty easy to take up.
I've tried TERA, but it just couldn't provide the same fun combat experiences as Vindictus, or the second place combat system of Black Desert.
AION's only feature that separates it from run-of-the-mill mmo clones is that you can fly, thought that gets old fairly fast. It might be the same fate that awaits Revelation Online once it comes out, but let's hope not.
Some say Wakfu can be fun, though I haven't tried it myself. I heard it is quite a grind-fest though.
From what I heard from my friends, World of Warcraft actually implemented a way for F2P players to support their monthly payments for the game by only doing stuff ingame, though I don't know the specifics. If you're not put off by the ever spreading wow-like-visuals-and-mechanics in games nowadays (personally, I think that's a plague), you might want to look into it.
Blade and Soul I can't really recommend. From my point of view it is basically a PvP game and the combat system might be good for fighting other players. Still, it just can't beat Vindictus in PvE.
You can also try to get into Skyforge. Its combat system is actually quite good. Personally, the thing that bothered me is the world setting, though that's a matter of preference.
Although far into the future, a game worth waiting for for the moment is Peria Chronicles I believe. The world crafting mechanics in that one carry quite a promise.

I entered one of your giveaways so I wanted to keep your thread active (and part of me dies inside when I see a post that simply says "Bump!"), but I don't think I have any wisdom to offer you on this topic. I like the idea of online gaming a lot more than online gaming, which hasn't.provided me with too many positive experiences. I don't think there is any escape from the grind - from what I can tell, it's part of the MMO DNA. I have to say, I do find the prospect of semi-naked demon ladies and cute bunny girls intriguing, portals to Hades or not. The rainbow shitting unicorn held some appeal too. It's disappointing that it was effectively unattainable, but by the same token, it would've lost it's magic if there were half a dozen of them in every lobby/town.

Thanks. What is it about the Final Fantasy 14 combat system? Is it complex or frustrating?...Never mind, I just decided it's not for me when I saw monthly subscription. I had started downloading the benchmark - it's 1.6 GB! For the benchmark software!

Free to play is more aligned with my budget, and if I recall, TERA is also the one with the semi-naked demon ladies and cute bunny girls. Sounds like it might be worth a look.
