Damn...

Edit: Linkin Park's official statement

Talking with you about the years ahead together, your excitement was infectious. Your absence leaves a void that can never be filled—a boisterous, funny, ambitious, creative, kind, generous voice in the room is missing. We’re trying to remind ourselves that the demons who took you away from us were always part of the deal. After all, it was the way you sang about those demons that made everyone fall in love with you in the first place. You fearlessly put them on display, and in doing so, brought us together and taught us to be more human. You had the biggest heart, and managed to wear it on your sleeve.

Never was a fan of LP as well as most of nu metal and rap metal. but every death is a tragedy and especially suicidal one. May he find peace of heart now.

I couldn't have said it better. Also, I've just read that he is survived by his wife and six(!) children. So sad for them.

That hit me the most. Leaving behind six kids. I can't even imagine the pain they must be going through. One of his sons left him a note about a month ago

Being near the bottom of society on a lot of levels, I can understand easily in today's suffering world and I'm never surprised. Here in America at least, disabled people are treated like crap on many levels. I don't blame anybody anymore seeing the world through a different pair of eyes than I did when I was healthy before I crossed a certain threshold of suffering.

I was just stumbling across the forums here and heard of it, this was news to me.

I remember like over 10 years ago or so listening to their music, mainly their first couple albums (Hybrid Theory, Meteora) and there remix albums, the later stuff there were a few songs but I think I stopped listening to them after Living Things?

Now this year two of some of my favorite singers/bands have died, and not even half a year apart, but two months. One of my favorite songs was Be Yourself by Audioslave and now a band that used to be my favorite (still like the old songs, not big on the new stuff) has lost their singer as well.

I remembered Linkin Park music on this MMA video months ago. For me the music fitted pretty well, but people seem to hate the track.

I do like Chris Cornell's music way more but this is unfortunate anyway.

I was so shocked. Linkin Park was the band that introduced me to rock, I still often listen to their old songs. My condolescences to his friends and family, I hope he rests in peace.
