I'm not buying this game, but I find it very odd that an entire gamemode (essentially "hard") is being withdrawn from people just because they dont pay for the game in advance. I dont mind pre-order bonuses if it's something small, like a gun, but an entire gamemode...

i think its mostly the preorder basically being a game mode/difficulty setting chopped from the game and made exclusive. like if newvegas hardcore was ce only(and only if you got the ce at gamestop) or something. instead of something small like a cosmetic skin or questionably balanced singleplayer starting weapon or even a small dungeon. so if oyu don't preorder you're stuck in easy mode.

a lot of what made Metro 2033 so amazing was the desperation of it. By quite literally macro'buying ammo before you even load the game up, you nerf the fun from it. Even before thq died, I had a bad feeling about the direction last light was going - now its all but guaranteed to suck.

It is. No reason to hate Metro, it was one of THE games back then. Shame it was so outrageously given out for free lately, so that people consider it a shit game just based on this. It was always sought after before they ruined it with the promotion, which seems to lie up, again, on the principle of - give them a finger and they'll eat your whole arm. I'll personally feel sorry if the new Metro doesn't do well with sales just because of this old Metro fiasco.

It's a sequel...By the same developer.And THQ/DeepSilver only did the publishing so it won't be affected.
Aliens was in production for years and has a story similar to DNF so yeah, it's different.

There were problems besides the ending. The rushed/simplified dialogue, bizarre plot developments, poor integration between war asset building and Shepard's personal journey, still unpolished/intentionally skewed balance issues, flanderization of several characters (ex. GARRUS IS DOIN' CALIBRATIONS LULUL, TIM IS A BOND VILLAIN) and the new characters were thoroughly not to par for Bioware. These may have all been easily forgiveable had the ending not been utterly shite. But it was, and it soured the impressions of an entire series for too many fans, myself included. Bioware/EA's retarded PR didn't help.

not sure if hardcore mode in MLL is the same as Ranger Mode in the normal one,but if yes then it isn't really a difficulty setting. There easy,normal,hard,veteran (if i remember correctly) and ranger mode as seperate. It still was the same campaign,but gameplay itself was pretty different because of the changes. Although I agree on the hate against the DLC spam. However, Metros Ranger Mode was a DLC,too,although it was free on PC. Maybe it's just like in DunDef and preorder gives early access to the mode.

Yeah, just reread their wording and it says "Pre-Purchase Metro: Last Light and receive and upgrade to the Limited Edition for Free!".

Actually, until very recently the pre-order bonuses on digital games were really poor. Now you see things like Bioshock Infite preorder bonus but that doesn't mean every game does the same. Besides I doubt that the rest of the online stores would have offer such a bonus for Bioshock Infinite if it wouldn't have been for Steam's offer.

Any particular reason for slamming Deep Silver? They don't seem worse than THQ in any way.
And the $1=€1 thing is done by the majority of companies that publish on Steam, so it's not fair to single out DS as an offender.
Edit: To clarify, I agree this is bullshit, especially the pre-order bonuses that were cut out of the game or are basically cheats, but I don't see how things would have been any better with THQ as a publisher. They did the exact same bullshit before going under. (I still can't get a good answer on why people like THQ)

I loved Gothic 1 and 2, but I couldn't even finish Risen, because it was too linear and boring. Even when I had a choice it was like - choose better option and receive shitty mage item, while I was warrior or choose bad option for better item. Whole world was so damn limited, rocks and mountains everyfuckingwhere.
