Let the ultimate showdown begin!

Edit:

Brace yourselves the 'apple and orange' analogies are upon us.

I used to LOVE Minecraft, and a few years ago I would have picked that. But it got way too complicated for what it was trying to be, so I'm gonna have to go with Terraria. It's mechanics were actually suited to all of the content it had. And it had A LOT of content.

They're both good in their own way but considering Minecraft offers SO many more hours and with all the modpacks out now you really never run out of things to do. <3 them both but Minecraft a bit more.

Why would we need to brace ourselves about the apples and oranges when it's true?

Well sure, apples are certainly different than oranges. They also share enough in common to both be considered fruits. Without any differences they would be the same game after all. Not that it matters because this poll is simply asking which game you prefer, meaning they don't even have to be remotely similar.

Besides I was only pointing out that a lot of people are going to say it, regardless of how truthful it is.

They´re alike but still different so i would prefer not to vote since i love them both, but since i have to pick one ill go for Terraria cause i´ve spent well over 300 hours (including before i got it on steam).

Let's face it, block worlds work way better in a 16 bit style than they do in full 3D. For all it's charm, Minecraft merely apes the glory of the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. Terraria actually captures it.

btw, i dont play minecraft or terraria, but i played both

I don't like oranges so my vote went to terraria.

I bought it yesterday for £1.49 or so, for that price its good value for money!

Minecraft i bought when it was still alpha, and very rough. I think it lost its way somewhat.

I love both games and, while I do play Terraria still... sometimes, Minecraft is fun no matter how long I play it.

My preferences switch a lot, depending on my mood. Right now I'm enjoying Terraria a bit more. The boss fights are a lot more satisfying. ^-^

I think Minecraft is better but it just appeals to me more. More intuitive controls, prefer the playstyle of it more. They are basically different takes on the same sort of idea no matter what anyone wants to claim. I like how people turn it into a rivalry though.

I can't get into Terraria. I really tried. I can't really get into it at all and enjoy it. Minecraft just feels better for me. And I do own both lol. Terraria just seems more of a niche game where Minecraft is going to appeal to more people simply based on how the game works with any sort of complexity it holds, it feels more intuitive and easier to get into. Course that's not always going to be the case with everyone but I feel that would mostly hold true

I loved Minecraft when I got it for the first time, it literally got me addicted to months, but when I realized I was doing the same boring thing over and over, just mine ,hunt, build, mine, hunt, build, that I stopped playing it.

Terraria was the first game (in front of Minecraft) that I got, I remember all those awesome moments that I had in it, my first boss-fight, and all that.

Overall, Terraria gave me much MUCH more entertainment, than Minecraft ever will. You can say that: Mods dude, try out mods.
But I refuse to, because if the vanilla game can't charm me, then I am not going to waste my time to get mods for it.

I like Minecraft
I love Terraria.

Terraria is my vote.

I think comparing these two is like comparing HoMaM with Supreme Commander. Not really possible to compare in terms of gameplay, but Minecraft certainly entertained me longer.

I would have voted Terraria, for the graphic, the mobs and the use of C# (better than Java...), but... mods? content? updates?
Minecraft, for sure...
