I'd recommend getting SkyUI (which requires SKSE). SkyUI cleans up the entire inventory and spells interface, making it searchable and way easier to use. Anything else is optional, but that's the one I don't think I could go back to playing without.

Yes. Bethesda should just buy that mod and make it part of the game. Way better than that lazy console port inventory interface.

Why would they buy it? When they have all rights to use it.

If I were to only use one mod, this would be it. Love SkyUI.
My second choice would be Spend Dragon Souls For Perks.

Agreed, if it weren't for SkyUI i would have give up, skyrim has the worst UI in a port

Basically this. There's also a mod that adds more weapons, but yeah.

Getting the mod manager would also be good. (You could get Oblivion Mod Manager since it works with Skyrim, too. Only if you can't find Skyrim's though)

Do you like getting achievements? There is a nice mod (needs SkyUI and SKSE to work) that tosses in a pile of little ones that ding for all sorts of stuff, usually giving a +1 or +2 boost to a skill or something as well. It has made my second runthrough of the game pretty fun as it keeps popping up every now and then while I wander about and do ALL THE THINGS which is my gameplay style. :)

Anywho, it is called Achieve That! and here is a link to Nexus Mods fo it:

Oh, and if your box can handle it, get both the official High Resolution packs and then hit a mod sight (or Steam) for the Unofficial packs as well, they fix glitches as well as a lot of little quest or conversation bugs that you might find. With these and the above one you still get the original content experience without having additional non-canon stuff going on, great for a first run before you start slapping My Little Pony skins on the dragons and getting all Saint's Row on Skyrim. :)

The irony is that the unofficial packs broke quest progression for me.Had to disable them to continue :(
Don't know whether it's fixed yet though.

I haven't found that so far, but I just started my second run through. I do know after my first one the patches cleaned the heck out of my stagnant quest logs for sure, lot's of cruft built up over the game that was simple pointers not getting reset kind of stuff.

Sky UI (Requires a launcher for scripting purposes or some shit), immersive interiors, splash of rain, dance of death - a killmoves mod, moonpath to elswyer, the fall of space core, apex werewolf, horses can level up too, pure waters. These are the ones that i use, all available in the workshop.

Because that's a huge waste of time when he could be playing the game with improvements to begin with.
