I say Thanks or words to that effect on giveaways I'm truly grateful for, and I try to make reasonable responses to threads and posts of other people. Rarely do I feel comment to entry matters, as in my mind most of the "Thanks!" (Which are likely what boost a lot of people's comments the most) are done with some script or without much or any thought.
