I have the same, I was already a bit like wth is going on as some of these games that are needing updates never get them, I got like 102 queued for updates :|

Also if going to someone profile and clicking on their games, it doesn't load anything.

Just force them to update. They're all 0 bytes so they pretty much disappear immediately.

Happened to me too. All for 0 MB. xD

It's all 0 kb for me.... I think someone accidentally messed with Steam's Common Redist thing, that's the only thing that usually cause such a huge number of things needing update.

Yup, I got it right... all the updates are 0 kb, but they deleted whatever .exe is in the CommonRedist folders of those games o.O

Hopefully it's Steam coding a way to get the CommonRedist into one centralized folder.... it's silly when one of those things get updated, all games that uses it start downloading the same 25MB update, for example... like dozens of games.

yep instead of doing something sensible like automatically downloading the updates it decided to schedule them for times like 4:34am, 2:01am and twenty-past-whenever-we-can-be-bothered-to-fix-the-issue

Others are reporting same issue on Reddit.
Also prior to that Steam had a sudden non-routine downtime.

a lot of devs accidentally make a new steam id instead of updating the original, maybe steam looked for patched versions consumers couldn't access and properly fixed the situation(s), in bulk

Huh?

not the best example but notice how steam id's are listed on the left and patch dates on the right:
https://steamdb.info/search/?a=app&q=alien+isolation&type=1&category=0
notice how the review copy isn't up to date

https://steamdb.info/search/?a=app&q=painkiller+black&type=1&category=0
with this one painkiller upgraded gold to black and fully updated it, though they didn't merge it into one steam id

https://steamdb.info/search/?a=app&q=fallout+new+vegas&type=1&category=0
or here there are 3 versions of fallout new vegas each with it's own steam id

sometimes when you are browsing the steam store you will notice that a game you own isn't highlighted as in library in the store, in those cases the steam id on the store page is often from a different patch version than steam id you will be linked to if you go to your client library, highlight the game, and click the "store page" link on the right side menu in the steam client

The first "update" was 0 bytes and I think that one deleted all/most of my CommonRedist folders and then another came in with the Common-Redist-watcha-call-it problem. All my games are on manual update so there was a wall of text of games to update. So someone majorly F'd up something..
