Trading cards glitch?

Here's a situation:

My father got 3 TF 2 cards and he gave them to me. So I had 3 of them in my inventory. Then I started playing TF 2 to get mine. I got additional 2. So I have 3 drops remaining (it even says so) but it's been like an hour and I'm getting no more cards. Maybe it recognizes that I have 5 (which is total drop) of them in my inventory and that's why I'm not getting any more? But it'd be stupid. So you'd have to get yours first before accepting any other from people. Do you know what's up with that?
