Someone who knows more about steam than I do, can you tell me why every day there are 1~3 accounts sending me friend requests on steam? (ps: most of the accounts are from Eastern Europe)

They are trying to reach you concerning your vehicle's extended warranty.

It's your brother, gib them gaem.
Jokes aside, set your inventory to private if it's not already.

It's because you add people with high levels to your list and you leave your inventory public. The bots get their friends list and add everyone they have, and keep going trying to find someone to scam.

Edit: I wouldn't be so sure about where the accts are from, as you can list whatever location you want on steam.

This probably, as I rarely get any random friend requests... (high level people/people who trade or something on friend list is the issue)

Are the bots scanning your game inventory for valuable items?

I'm sure they are, I get an invite once in a while, but I ignore almost immediately. I think that leaves them in the dark and they don't insist. I believe if you add/block them, then they register you as an "active" target and you're more likely to get more invites.

Whenever I get one I just check the profile really fast, I go directly to their inventory, if it's private I instantly decline(I mentioned in my profile description that I don't add people with private inventories, so if they really wanted to add me, they could unprivate until I add them and we discuss whatever).

Alternatively if when I go to their profile they have a non bot profile I'll accept since it's likely for a reason or a question, although my profile comment section is open so I'd prefer people used that more often to say "added you for this".

But I honestly think the reason it happens to OP is because of who he added to his friends list. His highest level "friend" is a guy who's some millionaire who farms friends as fans on steam and craves attention by showing some digital items which are pennies to him. I don't know why people deify lucky people.

I get random invites from time to time and they're almost always the same - usually low levels, private inventories, CSGO is their most played or most recently played game, almost all the games in their libraries are f2p or episodic games where the 1st one is free, a lot of times their avatar is a pretty girl.

I know they're all scammers and they just want my valuable CSGO stuff. I'm wondering how they find me. I haven't added any permanent friends in awhile. Just temporary friends to give away some game codes.

Public inventory is why.

Oh that's a normal day if you got items for dota2, csgo, tf2 that are worth anything, they either beg or try to scam you.
Friendly advice, leave a disclaimer on your profile next to your name to leave a reason for adding u in the comments otherwise u ignore them. And just bang that ignore button for every one of them.

I have had people try and trade with me and my son for cards for items but when I say send me an offer they usually try and take every single card from me and give me a banana or egg form those clicker games - never did the trade but be careful

There better be a lot of this cake, otherwise consequences might be severe: we might be mildly disappointed.

This is Steamgifts. I want to have cake, eat the cake, get a free game, and complain that free game is shit, and free is too expensive.

That's happening a lot to me too. I try to accept everyone and asking the reason of the request. Sometimes they just want to chat I made few friends like that. They are nice people but sometimes just want to scam or for +1 friend. That's all. Nothing so special.

People can add you for all kinds of reasons.
I've had people add me because they like my profile, they want to get an achievement for a game we both have, they want to trade, chat, ....

Normally those people put a message on my profile telling me what they want.
Recently someone tried to add me without a message. So I asked them why on their profile.
Turns out they were trying to get people to review the game they made. Which was a first, and definitely not appreciated. Not without a message first.

I have the same experience! In 99% of the case, so far, it's low level accounts (level 2-12) with Cyrillic profiles and descriptions adding me out of the blue and wanting to scam me out of a game or game item.

Same, nowadays i ask ppl to leave the reason why in the profile page but they seem to be saying the same thing (and sometimes it doesnt sound like a reason of why they are doing that)

For some reason, all those random adds have csgo, dota and tf2 as their last played games, 5000 hours in each of them, 500 hours played in the last 24 hours, they have less than 10 paid games on their account and they have pictures of hot women that you can date in your neighborhood as their avatar and artwork display and their name is anastasiya.
