Hello, fellow SteamGifters, have I got a question for you!

I'm about to take the first real vacation ever and now I'm kind of stuck at what to do or where to go. Let's say you have a week or two of free time, average amount of money (seriously, no billionare here) and no companions. How do you spend your vacation? I though about just being home and lounge around, play games, etc. But I feel that it would be a waste of the vacation time (it doesn't grow on trees, you know).

So, how do you/should you spend your vacation time alone? I'm welcome to any ideas.

Meow.

Edit:
As I predicted, lot of you guys are suggesting travel. While I already traveled a lot around my country (Czech Republic), I'm a little afraid to travel alone aborad. But I think I would be able to go somewhere for a day or to. Sooo, any tips for a one day trip or a weekend trip around Europe? A little reminder, I do not own a car or can go by plane (too expensive, unless there are some price steals around that I don't know about).

Vienna isn't a far trip and I've heard it's a nice place to visit. the bus prices should be reasonable too, no?

Travel is one option but if you don't want to travel somewhere for the free time, do some change in your house (example: paint the walls with a new color) and then enjoy it while relaxing. :-)

Though the travel to somewhere you haven't been yet would be the best I guess. :-)

If you don't mind trains and are in the right age range try Interrail. You could see a ton of Europe in two weeks. And if you like it somewhere you just stay a little longer.

a friend of mine said europe is great for hitchhiking, its the cheapest way to travel and you meet a lot of people.

just travel until money (for cheap motels and food) is gone or pack a tent. do a tour around europe.
