Just found out today that Hatsune Miku is coming to europe for the first time! :)

Unfortunately only three concerts (France, Germany, United Kingdom) Link to website

Just wanted to let you fine people know, maybe someone here is also interested :)

Hatsune Miku is a Japanese music sensation, a 16 year-old blue-haired girl with a unique voice and prodigious energy.
What makes her special is that she is not a human singer, but a virtual persona who uses a computer-generated voice and 3D graphics to perform on stage.

That's how a live concert of a virtual anime girl looks like!

Is it crazy to cheer for a 3D hologramm of an anime girl who's using sound software to sing?

Yes, totally.
That's pretty normal by my standards.
No.
What?

I live in the US. Rip me.

I don't know if I'd go see one of her concerts. I mean, she just lip-syncs all the time. ☺

Gorillaz is also a virtual band. Seems normal to me.

They should do a collab.

They do live concerts themselves, not only holograms.

I think they only did the hologram thing in few concerts lot of years ago.

+1 for that link !

Yeah, no. They are a normal band that plays live while also sometimes using a little bit of unconventional stuff, it's weird to compare them to something 100% artificial. Saw them a week ago, it was pretty awesome (until it was interrupted by heavy thunderstorm), and there was nothing virtual about it (aside from avatars on screens). Most importantly, these are alive musicians actually playing and singing, not something computer-generated.

It's a hologram. Literally made of light. Thus it must be god!

At first I was like "wtf it's not real singer". But then I listened to it and have to say that it sounds just like any other pop star nowadays xD

This software, which can recreate a singing voice carefully recorded and processed for each character, makes it possible to generate an entire song’s vocal parts by simply entering a melody and lyrics on your computer.

Her tickets are real expensive probablyy

Edit; I was right, still would 100% go tho probablyy

Yeah, they are a bit expensive but I guess this is normal for those events with a smaller fanbase :)
If I remember correctly, "Zelda: Symphony of the goddesses" and "Video Games Live" concerts were about the same price.

Wow that's utter banditry. The French tickets cost 30 euros, it's almost twice as expensive in GBP :x

One of my friends is attending the Paris concert (which is kinda funny since that guy never has any money and is already indebted to pretty much everyone I know). Personally I liked a few songs I heard here and there but I'm not really a Vocaloid fan otherwise. Still, it's nice to see this happening since the fans were waiting for it since basically forever.

Always have some spare money for your waifu available :P
I'm wondering what kind of people I will meet at the concert, because I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to Vocaloid stuff :D
I just started listening to it a few weeks ago, but I really enjoy such special events that you don't see every month/year :)
And seeing the crowds in their past concert vids get me really hyped for it :)

Now, I have a problem with this. She was born in 2007 which means she's 11, but then if she was born 16 that'd mean she's 27 just cause she's not a human doesn't mean she isn't aging I mean the most important question is she leg-

Even though Miku is "virtual", she's got more soul in her music than a lot of the artists and music currently clogging up America's Top 40...
