There's about 40-45k players idling for 550k hours = 12 hours each, seriously? I feel like 6 hours would be enough although probably "too easy" for them pshhh. And I feel bad if I wasn't doing my part idling since I actually have some of the games required, meaning I won't be playing much other games for 5 days :/

If you use the Idle Master trick, you can play other games. Just learned about it today myself. Pretty handy, and hours later, it still says I'm playing COH2 while I'm playing other things. And no memory, CPU, or GPU dips because of it.
Though, I do feel ya'. Pretty extreme hours to pull, but it could be worse. We could be having to pull up a million hours in one day; it might happen on the last day, or might not altogether.
I have a feeling they're actively monitoring the hours clocked in every so often and adjusting the goals accordingly. From 2 goals of 500k to 550k for today? Not too big of an increase, and reachable all the same.
With the weekend being next, perhaps we'll see an overall increase in people online?

I feel you have misread my comment or jumped to conclusions, I AM idling it all day all the time. Even though I already got most of the free games from last year. But the difference is, unlike torrents, I can't play another game while it's idling. It's nice to know of the idle master trick though, didn't know about that, might try but there's only two days left anyways now.

If you have a "play now" button then you can see it in your library (or search for it), it will even say you own the game when you open it's page. Except it's not only not in the library but doesn't show that you own it and there's no "play now" button

I got the game now as well, but yea it has been really weird. First day I got the game 2 hours after the coupon, 2nd day I got both of them before I even woke up and today I got the game with 9 hours of delay o.o
