Some MMO's on Steam have that like RIFT and Wakfu

I remember a long time ago that a particular F2P super hero MMO on PS3 had this feature. You can play each parts every 20% of the download.
Would be nice to have this feature. Wanted to play vanilla Sanctum 2 but Steam won't let me play until I download a forced (3gb?)winter update.

That's such a weird feature, does the game stop you from accessing stuff that isn't downloaded yet? It makes sense on a linear title like Source games because it can prioritize chapters in sequence but I imagine FIFA doesn't follow that formula.

It downloaded the demo version first and allowed you to start playing with a few teams.
Finished the match and my download was done. The game is only about 10 GB so it isn't too bad. Would have come in handy while downloading Titanfall though.

Long story short, I bought FIFA 15 on Origin and the game is apparently playable while downloading at 28%.
Obviously Steam also has this feature available with the play button on downloads but I have yet to see a single game take advantage of that for some reason. Does anyone have any idea which games support the play while downloading function?
I hate to see that many PS4 games (or is it all games?) have this function while for some reason most games on Steam don't. Weird don't you think?
