My method was to just look for games that I want and put in for them. I eventually tossed up a game as a giveaway so that I could be in contributor giveaways as well. Those are the basics.

It's just pure luck.

choose giveaways you enter more wisely, i've got like 250 less GA enters than you, yet my estimated wins are 3.87, and i won 3 games; try to find some steam group for giveaways, there are far less enters in group GAs so your odds of winning are far higher; also make some GAs yourself, so you can join GAs that are only avalible for contributors
