Just as title says... Could we get a feature to sort discussions by date they were created?

Right now they are sorted by last post which is cool for certain reasons but... when I log into steamgifts in a new day I would like to see all new discussions that were created while I was sleeping (or while I was off for a longer duration)... In a current state, new posts are mixed with old (sometime months old) discussions and I need to flick through them to find new ones.

Or maybe we could mark discussions we already read? Or mark new ones we did not read yet? (Automatically of course =)

//EDIT: Made a userscript for this. Read more here.

Would you use sorting by creation date?

Yes! It's awesome! ᕦ(ò_ó*)ᕤ
No! I flip a table with your stupid idea! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
I don't know. I'm a potato. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It was already suggested 6 months ago, but unfortunately nothing was done about it. I think being able to sort discussions by date is a must-have feature, it would definitely make browsing the forum a whole lot better.

Lately I've been rarely checking the forum out, because I'm getting sick of seeing weeks or months old threads being bumped and mixed in with the new ones, especially those that are completely irrelevant now.

Many things have been suggested, and many of them are worth making, like this one. But the thing is that almost nothing is being implemented, at least from cg (site creator). He is more into making the site work properly than adding a bunch of other needed-but not vital features.

Maybe some of the scripting guys could make something about it. Like they already do about many of things.

Papa bless.

Sort by creation date, mark as read and so on are must haves, and I'd love to see them implemented :)

it really is handy. name's something of an artifact title considering the additional features which could cause some to underestimate it

This would be good. I check Discussions every evening and mainly looking for new Threads. Without sorting by create date it's a bit time consuming :P

I made a user script that allows you to sort discussions and also fades discussions you've already read, so you can spot new ones really easily =). You can read more about it (and my other scripts) here. Or just go directly here and hit the install button. If you are not familiar with user scripts, you need to download a browser extension first (Tampermonkey for Chrome or Greasemonkey for Firefox).

That would be great!
I know scripts exist but I didn't find any way to make them work on mobile. So every great feature where scripts exist should still be implemented !

I suggested many sorting features, all of which were never implement for who the fuck knows what reason. It doesn't seem that hard to implement without using scripts, and yet... still no sorting feature. But well, at least a userscript is the second best thing.
