You were supposed to decipher from this, that the first one will be with the least characters, the second one would be a little longer and the fifth one the longest.
If you'll take a look at the giveaways where you found the letters - The USB Stick Found in the Grass, GameGuru, Out of Reach: Treasure Royale, RPG Maker VX, Draw Slasher.
Then you could put them in order from the shortest to the longest - GameGuru, RPG Maker VX, Draw Slasher, Out of Reach: Treasure Royale, The USB Stick Found in the Grass.
Then the letters associated with each giveaway would be in the correct order - RH4nK
I thought that, actually. But with Out-Of-Reach-treasure-Royale (5) I thought that one would be the last one, and The-USB-Stick-Found-In-The-Grass (7) messed me up
But now seeing it, I guess it could have been done differently :D I wasn't planning to go for the theme of visual novels at all, guess that didn't add up.
I'll need to add some more hints, so people won't get it the wrong way. I still have a lot to learn from the more experienced puzzle masters it seems^^
Nice puzzle! Didn't enter any of the GAs because I already own most of these, but had fun regardless.
I immediately had the right idea of sorting the GAs containing the secrets letters by their title length, but made some silly mistakes which caused me to second guess myself and go down the rabbit hole of trying to sort by point cost, by game release date, etc.
I tried adding another hint pointing at the title length, did you use it/did it help? 8 > 10 > 11 > 25 > 26 this one
I would do things a bit differently now, so people wouldn't get lost as much in the final process. But hopefully with some hints it will seem more straightforward.
Yeah, I found it helpful. It confirmed my initial thinking and reduced my inclination to chase other ideas. It's a good clue.
The thing that slowed me down the most was entirely different though. I was missing the letter K from the USB... GA! My brain somehow forgot that the initial branch of 3 GAs even existed since it's not accessible from the main loop. I knew I was missing a letter and started making crazy assumptions about what it could be :)
Ah, I see. I was thinking about how to make it fully accessible without having to use the link from discussions repeatedly, but I didn't get any ideas. Guess I could add "previous" button here https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/Vjqpu/draw-slasher to make it accessible, I was just scared that it would be confusing :D
going to be honest with this one i tried everything from letters in the words to the pronounciations of the letters (like kay and for and ar) then i got fed up enough i brute forced it. It feels like using a guide online to find the secret ending in the visual novel because you dont want to go through 100 trial and error attempts of potential leads. Thanks for the puzzle!
One question. I guessed R was first and H second. The 4 was for the "third" ending?

Ah, at first I tried variations in word and letter counts in the giveaway descriptions until it clicked to try letter counts of the giveaway itself.
