I've been there hitting quicksave when I meant quickload and got stuck in an endless death loop. :(

Thanks, it looks like a game I could enjoy very much. To stick to the topic: the most recent savegame loss for me was with Ryse Son of Rome. It was caused by a known bug, I don't remember well but I guess it had to do with offline play and steam cloud. Since it happened in the last part of the game I was very upset, I was able to continue the game but with beginner level, facing endgame foes. I used CheatEngine to find the exp value, change it, and get my stats back :)
