So a few days ago, I put up my m4a1-s master piece on csgolounge, and was wanting keys or real money for it.
I get loads of the usual friend requests and attempted scams that fail, as I know how to deal with them. I know all the scam attempts that exist, but this time I fell for something which was extraordinary.
The last guy who added me was not willing to go first in payment, he had 10 pages of rep and level 20 and a bit more playing time than me, I thought I could trust him, as he had so much more rep. I usually ONLY go first if the other guy has much more rep than me, he was talking like a real trader, asking whether my paypal was verified and giving reasons how I could scam him, making me go first this time.
So I go first, he asks for my paypal address, and says he sent the payment and instantly removes me and blocks me, he never sent anything. This is a new scam, in which I have learnt a valuable lesson, to never go FIRST, even if the other person has 8 years on steam, loads of pages of rep and high level. Personally, I think I only trust people with huge values in their inventory and those with higher level than me(60), I doubt there will be such scammers of such high level, but you never know.
Interestingly the next day, I check out his csgolounge profile and he has already traded my item along with other items for a butterfly fade.
Why am I posting this here? Well I want people not to fall in the same trap as I did, and be very careful in what they do on csgolounge, and to know for sure all scam attempts.
Finally enough, I am trying to get back on this scammer, messaging loads of people to report him as attempted scammer, I really want him to get trade banned, he really deserves to. I have read a report on steamrep of him attempting to scam another guy.
So far I have made his rep fall from 14 to 6 on csgolounge. I know at the end of the day I am an idiot to fall for this, and Steam does not care, they will not return scammed items, so the best thing I can ask you guys to do is the same.
Please -rep him on csgolounge here: http://csgolounge.com/profile?id=76561198079087210
Please report him as attempted scam on steam here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/brodouevenphysics/
Thanks
