Yeaaaaahhhhhhhh, "stable."

I'll go ahead and assume we used both OS for different things, and simply agree to disagree. But personally, I'd take unpatched Vista over ME any day.

Windows 98 first edition was a lil bit more broken than Win ME, but Win ME definitely was more broken than Vista.

Then i have bad news, it gets boring and mainstream and mods often contain gamebreaking bugs

To clarify, I just started playing vanilla after ~1,000 hours of modded gameplay.

There are a lot of games that are worth playing like Half-Life 2 and Bioshock. It really boils down to your personal preference.

Stunts aka 4D Sports Driving (yes, it is a game from 1990/1991 !)
This game is so buggy with car reactions that it becomes a real polygon pleasure when you manage to put the cars at hyperspeed (well, not all cars can reach it sadly) and then you can perform so much funny figures and fly into the air. Pure bug crazyness !
And its included track editor is quite powerful (press SHIFT F1 to edit the landscapes) while it was made ages before games like TrackMania.

Of course, to enjoy those funny driving bugs you have to use the DOS version, not the Amiga or the PC-98 versions.

I'm bored so I was hoping you would defend your decisions...but I agree those are all good games.
I would just argue that FN NV is objectively better than F4...but I guess that also depends on where your priorities lie

Permalink

After seeing the first 2 on the list I thought you were trolling but then I saw the 3rd and realized you were serious. I thought it was unanimous that Diablo 2 is far superior to 3 even after all the updates. Same for New Vegas over F4. Not saying you're wrong, it's just a matter of taste after all, I mean I don't even like Fallout at all anyway, just curious why you feel so drastically different than generally everyone else.

PS. But no really Diablo 3 was seriously disappointing, no way is it the best one, that's just nuts. I'm sorry I really tried to hold back :).

it's more disappointing to play d2, put 100 points in skills then realize you messed up and you have to start over.

potions, skill points, no respec, no endgame content. all old and useless mechanics that add nothing.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's now, when it came out none of those things were issues, games that were amazing at their time would be torn apart for one reason or another nowadays, you can't judge certain aspects like mechanics by today's standards. Also most fans complained about NOT having skill points and NOT controlling how the character levels up skills, which makes your complaint rather odd. As for endgame content it's not like you have anything special to do in D3 except more of the same, people sunk 100s of hours into D2 rolling different characters, that's your endgame content.

Ultimately something just felt off about D3 for me, like I was just going through the motions and not really feeling engrossed by the setting and atmosphere. But hey, different strokes for different folks.

I`m late to the Diablo 3 party so I don't know how it was at launch, but now I think it's a very good game. Having a lot of fun hunting gear with my brothers. I played Diablo 1 and skipped Diablo 2, maybe I'll give it a play when the remaster comes out.
