As you can see, I have made a non-CV giveaway for RPG Maker VX Ace that will end in late November-- it is available only to members of this group which is currently empty.

How will we fill this group?

As the title alludes, any wishing to join should propose a videogame of their own! Specifically, a design that can be created with the prize at hand, RPG Maker VX Ace. Your proposal may take any shape you wish and can be any length, but it must be posted here in this thread. Any idea deemed worthy will receive a group invite.

Acceptance is completely at my discretion and current state of intoxication. I'll be looking for legibility, well-defined goals, and some sense of how you will implement your grand ideas. I reserve the right to be picky-as-a-mofo, because I intend to keep the overall number of entries relatively low. This is a free opportunity to bounce some creative ideas off of your digital peers, and we will all get to observe the progress and product of our winner.

I'll be dropping some small, private GA links along the way for giggles. I hope you find the event intriguing and entertaining, good luck! ^__^

I've always wanted to make a game where you actually play as the bad guy. I was thinking of doing this in one of two ways.

One just pure out evil going around from town to town and stealing stuff hiding it in caves etc, so that towns start calling out for heroes to come save them. Kind of like how most RPGs 8/16-bit era games where such as Dragon Warrior/Quest, except like I said instead of going around solving problems and recovering things, you actually do the opposite. Eventually the heroes catch up to you in the end and attack your castle.

The alternative is kind of like Meet the Pryo in Pyroland. You see the world as nice and friendly and people are happy to see you... except really you are destroying everything in your wake. Eventually you realize what you have done and the game shifts gears at the point. You go back the way you came trying to make right what you did wrong, the people of course don't believe you are there to help them but you try to help anyway.

I actually have the ideas written out in full text in a word document, one of the story ideas is over 200 pages long. It would need the futuristic kit for RPG maker. Something I would likely pick up once I made one of the previous ideas I had. I really don't feel comfortable posting the concepts in full here because I do plan on making them one day. I have been waiting for a really good sale on Ace, so I would really appreciate the chance to win it. Unlike a lot of people, I would actually use it if I won it, and stick with it until I had a well polished game. I have even been practising in the lite version already. Not as a sign of bribery but if it did get on Steam, I would certainly remember who helped it get there and give you a key if you wanted it! Plus do a massive giveaway on Steamgifts. Even though I may not even get a chance to win, this post was kind of exciting. Thank you either way!

I have a bunch of ideas but I'll type up this one.

It's about a an 18 year old slacker who has the inexplicable ability to dodge anything that is thrown at him. Each time he successfully dodges anything he would take energy from the source. (If he were to dodge a punch he'd take energy from the person who threw it. If he dodged a bullet he'd take energy from the gun that fired it.) Combat will not revolve around killing everything you see but it will be about dodging their attacks and using taunts/tricks to drain your foes to the point of unconsciousness while keeping your energy levels high. You may use lethal force if you wish, (swords, guns etc.) but this will drain your energy at double the rate dodging would take.

There will be three levers of dodging difficulty. easy(punches kicks) medium(sword slashes, thrown knives, BB-guns) and hard(bullets, buildings). getting an more than the max amount of your energy will store one impossible dodge, which would allow you to dodge impossible things such as air strikes, railgun shots, the ground, responsibility(jk) and more.

The story would be about said slacker drifting into the capital of a once peaceful country that is now run by corrupted officials. He has pity on a little girl who "lost" her father during his military service not knowing that this simple act of kindness would snowball in to a mess big enough to expose the capital for the cesspool that it really is. He also just might find out more than he bargained for regarding the origin of his powers. He is also to be pursued by an ice cold law officer who is said to have never missed a single shot. This officer's faith in her superiors fade with each passing atrocity however....

So what do you guys think?

I have a friend who I'm going to get to storywrite for me, he's made a few games. His latest idea involves a sort of fable. Everyone is furry or some such in his version, and they want to make a game where you progress through the consciousness of people as a collective to influence humanity to keep it from self-destructing and ruining the environment. Going to have a few puzzles to start off with, for those who hate battles, but it'll slowly become more battle-oriented. Sort of a different learning curve.

My own game would be about finding the remnants of a burnt home, since you're solving a mystery about what happened for the house to burn down years ago, and the items that were salvaged from the wreck ended up across the land. Why is this house important? It is the last known location of a doctor who devised a virus which seems an awful lot like the one eating the brains of impoverished villages.

I reserve the right to be vague, because I don't want to be completely ripped off at a later date by someone else who thinks my idea looks good and that they'd finish before me and be able to claim all rights to it. I'm the kind of person it seems to happen to. As well, I'm rather bad at descriptions, which is why I'm having a friend help me with storywriting and correcting it so it makes sense as we go.

I can tell you details of the systems I intend to use for both. I intend for them both to be real-time Action-battle systems (Like Terranigma), and in one of the games will be an "Endless tower" Which would involve a map layering script so that you can seamlessly climb a tower of multiple levels.

I would be able to produce multiple stages of "Unfinished" versions, and await input at regular intervals.

I have a lot of ideas and it's a bit why I study in 3D animation.

My first idea:
Inmate stranger
Storyboard:

Since the arrival of a new prisonner something is wrong in the prison. the sky went red and demon are crawling in the corridors. Who is this guy and where's the security? The lights turn off and prison cells are now open. You incarnate a young man whom try to survive in this anarchy. You'll have to brave demon, make pact we inmates and find your way in hell.

Caracteristic:

You'll be able to create weapons with what you find

More than a thousand of playable characters and creatures to encounter

5 different ending

A giant map to explore in a prison that became a hell

characters level can reach 9999

open world game

Gameplay:

The game we'll be play as a regular RPG or an action-rpg.
Once you'll create link with charactrs, you'll be able to team with them and grow your strenght.

Second Story:

Storyboard:

In a world looking like a Dali' picture, a little boy try to find the essence of life. Only the essence of life can safe this world which is crumbling under a dark descent. Everythings, become darker and darker and the little boy will need to brave all kind of fear to reach is goal.

Caracteristic:

A colorful and artistic world full of references from modern to old artists

A story full of emotion

Puzzles to solve and monsters to kill

Gameplay:

A mix of puzzle and action gameplay

You will have tocomplete different game of minigames and puzzle to defeat boss monsters and all kind of creatures.

Thank you for this contest :)

Well, I've had an idea kicking around in my head for years to do an RPG with the combat akin to Streets of Rage mashed with Star Ocean and a somewhat political story like Suikoden 1 and 2.

Wouldn't know what the hell to do to get Streets of Rage-like combat in RPG Maker though. I couldn't code my way out of a wetpaperbag.exe.

hmmph.. my idea is a simple RPG game.. where everything is based on your knowledge and skills... for example to raise stats you will need to do the exact thing to raise it.. if you want to raise int you will have to go through a simple test of trivia quiz or such.. and bleh bleh bleh.. where everything is so nasty and people will have a super hardcore time playing it cause the system is so fcked up.. and they willl a lot of real time to finish it.. literally :3

the idea is that ... The user can play wood elves , and the villain of the palace guard . And if the user is playing elves elves in the forest, wooden houses nabigayut soldiers palace and villains . You can rob the Korowai ... And the elf forest just do something so that there is a thick forest ... A cursor can be placed so that the trees in the distance picture , podhodish when they are converted into 3-dimensional trees [1]. You can buy etc. opportunities both in Daggerfall. And the enemies of the 3-dimensional , too , and the corpse is also 3D . You can jump , etc. If you play for the protection of the palace we must obey the commander, and protect the castle from the evil (the name I came up with ) and spies , partisans of elves, and goes to raid someone else from these ( elves, evil ... ) . But if the evil ... it means that spyware or elves sometimes attack the guerrillas , the user himself can do what the commander himself wants to order his troops to attack him by the palace and go on the attack. Only in Game 4 of the zone. That is, card and on it there are 4 zones 1 - zone of people ( neutral ), 2 - zone of the emperor ( where the Palace) , 3 -band of elves , 4 - zone of the evil ... ( in the mountains, there is an old fort ... )

Just that the game could not only kill but also cut off a hand and a user will not cure it dies , just poke out the eye but you can not die but simply did not see the floor of the screen , or get or buy a prosthetic leg , too, if either die or budesh crawl in a wheelchair or a cat, or a good thing ... put the prosthesis . You can save ...

Lol :D

I already made 2 different games. It is about 2 people that went to an unknown location, and is trying to get back home before the world ends. Pretty much both of the games have a similar story to that.

well i know that you cant do this in RPG maker i one day wish to have this as my game :
A multi Platformer ( YES THAT MEANS 3DS ) game that connects to eachother like how the Ps3 does with the Cpu
But it will be a Zombie action horror game
Everything around you will be destructable as if it was worms armeggedon or better yet worms : Warfare
it would be a FPS/TPS with a narrative storyline
i would attempt to make it a MMO or a 62+ game so you could have alot of action packed Gameplay.
The main characters would range from custom voices. races. Genders. even furries and iron skins so no ones left out.
there would be a Customizable map just how it is in minecraft.
THere would be a cheat , Survival , HardCore, Multiplayer , Horde , and Zombie mode such as Black ops 2 has but better.
I would include some easter eggs such as: Freddy , jason , Chucky , and much more
The items would range from 200 to 300 thousand guns and Melee
But wait! whats this game missing???
OH RIGHT A GIANT FUCKING BOSS THAT COMES AT YOU AND FUCKS YO SHIT UP

  • To be editted sorry need to go to sleep wrote this before bed

My idea is :
Suddenly your character discovers that he only has a couple of days to live. You, the player, get to choose how the character spends his last days. You would get to know the story of the character and you would have different choices to make, with different endings.
You could go in the adventure of your life or you could seek the person which the character always loved, you could even try to know why you where gonna die or if there was any cure to that. There would be very different endings and you could play the game a lot of times, getting to choose different actions each time you play

I spent wayyyy to long playing RPG maker 3 on PS2. I don't think there will ever be a game more offensive then the shit we thought up.
There was nun blowjobs, torture, LSD and incestuous rape all in the first 5 minutes.

Do URL's counts?

If so basic background information:
http://pastebin.com/BRbeeL1w

Else
Player character is a hacker in a dystopian world which is largely controlled by corporate companies who have been researching artificial intelligence and predictive branching. The main purpose of the game would be to uncover the massive conspiracy behind the true events leading to the "Ghost in the Machine"

A game where the hero wakes up and the world is in complete chaos, attacked by Lucifer and his four horseman (Those would be the major bosses, Lucifer being the final) the hero has to go through 7 dungeons protected by the 7 deadly sins, to enter the last room the hero has to answer a riddle, each sin will drop a piece of a map which will show the locations of the 4 horseman, defeating them will reveal Lucifer's location.

I've had an idea for a while on a game that mixes post apocalyptic and mutant superhero type stuff, with a twist. I don't want to give away too many details because I was actually looking pretty seriously into trying to make and sell it, except I'm no programmer...something like this would allow me to focus on writing, composing, and world design instead. If I'm picked and I win, you'll get a free copy of the resulting game when it's done :-)

I would probably actually make an RPG. xD

It would take place in the year 5043, where society has actually devolved down to a time resembling the the 1850's. It takes place in two villages that are both in the same country, and you would control 2 characters. In one village, you have a silent male protagonist who would play in Turn-Based fights, and meet 2 people on his journey. The other protagonist lives in the other village, a female protagonist who plays as an action RPG, and also meets 2 people on her journey. She talks a lot, and can be arrogant and cocky at points. The game would focus a lot on the 2 journeys that take place simultaneously, focusing on the characters. Eventually the 2 groups would meet up and actually challenge each other to a fight, where you have to choose who to fight as. Your decision would choose the ending of the game. This fight would happen about 2/3 through the game, and would have a save point right there. The game would have multiple save slots. After you defeat the other party, one of the 2 non-protagonists from the other party will join yours, giving you the magic number 4. The enemies would be both mechanical enemies created from remains of abandoned areas, and animals as well. The animals could be new species, evolved species of modern-day species, or just a modern-day species. I can't decide whether the main antagonist would be either a controlling super power (i.e. government or corporation), or a non-realistic one, like a Goddess or something. The game would be 16-Bit, would be about 40 hours long, and would be on sale for maybe $20. I could possibly make an expansion of it, too, if it got good enough reception and it was requested enough times.

That good enough? Or is there more I need to explain?

Interesting, but I'm not sure RPG Maker would allow you to create a action rpg without HEAVY modification and scripting.
