Just want everyone to know that Nordhbane spent many hours uploading our artwork into our own voting gallery, setting up and configuring the scripts to run it, resizing thumbnails, manually configuring animations to work within the scripts and providing web hosting for our event! Thanks so much, Nordhbane .. I couldn't have done it without him. Or I could have done something but not nearly as nice!

That is the intention. It's partly to prevent people from being pursuaded by what other people think.
Plus, I think that knowing you have a low amount of votes can be demotivating, which is why I think we should only release the vote results for the top 10, but that's my opinion.

You have 12 weeks to improve your skills. :)
Remember, sometimes it's not the best looking images that appeal to the beholder. Being unique and thinking out of the box goes much further. If you're trying too hard to be "perfect" you'll end up bland and uninteresting.

There's very little work involved for you. Copy the text from previous hosts and change to links that we have provided. Come up with 4-5 fun facts about the place you've picked. And finally give out bonus points for yours and your co-hosts challenge for the week. As a host you get 5 + 3 points to give to someone you think deserved it during that week.

I'm creating a steam group to give out GAs... If you want an invite to contribute GAs as you like that would be cool.
GAs are made weekly for the participants in the previous week of the event.
The event runs 13 weeks.

Not have to do weekly.. Do as many or few as like...
But you could make all the gas at the same time and set up each ga to start and end ahead of time so it's all done automatically... Then you don't have to remember each week.

So far there are 30 GA's for the first week... each week we will try to keep it at 30 GAs. This doesn't include future GAs for leaderboard winners!! (We only had about 35 participants in first week so chances of winning a GA is VERY HIGH!)
Last week was the first week of an event that is becoming a showcase of the beauty of art as seen around the world and as expressed through the talent of artists from Steamgift members. The world we all share has gorgeous landmarks both architecturally designed by man and those designed in nature that we are celebrating during this event! We also are celebrating the beauty that we see in each other on SG!
Steamgifts is a community of diversity from countries and cultures around the world. We thus experience a blend of cultures and diversity that we can choose to appreciate or clash and find fault with. We as a community WILL have drama; it is unavoidable, as the human psyche is extremely emotional and we are starving for attention from each other... acceptance, appreciation and love.
The CHALLENGE we are putting out there to the Steamgifts community to achieve during the next 12 weeks is this:
Allow this event to become a common table where we SHOW as a community we appreciate the diversity and artistic talents seen in each other, praise those talents, encourage them to excel even better, and use it to draw us all into a more positive-charged community!
Let the drama of our community become the drama of a Hallmark-moment and let this event be an impetus towards this goal!
