Is there any chance that Last of us 2 will come to pc just like detroit become human and death stranding?

From what I understand, the first game was coded to extract every last bit of optimization out of the PS3 that made porting it to other systems impossible, requiring significant recoding just to make it work on the PS4.

As such a PC adaptation is unlikely

Oh i didnt know that. You can still play through PSNow but it depends on your connection heavily..:/

Which means they have already done the work. PS4 is like a (weak) PC in small, using the same x86 architecture. Going to 'regular' PCs from there is easy.

yep there is a remaster for part one on ps4 . and ps4 games porting is way easy compare to ps3 !! we`ve seen bunch of games found theire way into pc such as horizon zero dawn , death stranding and ,,,, so its not impossible

Why would you even want that game?

It's a top-tier Playstation game, they aren't gonna just give it up already.

There is near zero chance for it to comes to PC. Quantic Dream and Kojima Productions are independent and they still own their IPs But Naughty Dog is owned by Sony. The only Sony Exclusive that is coming to PC is Horizon Zero Dawn to show off its games and attract more peoples to Play Station.

Not entirely. Both "Death Stranding" and "Detroit: Become Human" (as in titles) are trademarks of Sony. Meaning no port without their permission.
Sony is much less against porting than people in this thread, lol.

Not saying it impossible but both those development studios aren't owned by Sony, whereas I have yet to see any AAA Sony game from a Sony owned developer to release a game on pc. Seems very very unlikely to happen (although I'd like it to)

Horizon Zero Dawn is set to release sometime soon. Store page says summer but it's coming to PC and it and the studio, Guerilla Games, are fully owned by Sony. It's only one so far but it's a start.

Ya it's been up on the Steam store since March. IT's pretty sweet to see it come to PC. It was an awesome game and I'll be picking it up again on PC to see the improvements and support a hopeful future of more Playstation games to come to PC.

The only Naughty Dog games that came to PC since 80's were Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. And it's just kinda Naughty Dog games

Maybe through PS Now or if Sony decides to make playstation into a service in the future. But like Death Stranding, released on PC in of itself, probably not

Nope, it is a game made by a company that connected to Sony.

Death Stranding and Detroid made by independent companies.

I somewhat feel Sony could one day start releasing games on PC. I think Horizon is just them dipping their feet in the water. If they do release more of their exclusive games on PC it might be like 2 years after release or something. This would still be a great thing.

This is all just me dreaming too. I have owned every Playstation system because of the great games that have come out exclusively for their systems but I now have a nice PC and would love to see these games with better performance and visuals.

Mostly no, anyway i read really really bad reviews about this game. Looks pretty focused on spread NWO messge and not tell to much about history.

What's the NWO? It's set in the future, so it ain't a historical game.

New World Order. It's a vague term about government control, and the flipside of general populace in anarchy, and the like.
I'm not sure exactly what the OP meant either, but that's my guess.

Anyway, that seems like the least worrisome part of the game.

You mean user reviews? All the professional critics like the game and give extremely high scores. The only negativity I can see is from user reviews. And let's be honest, a big chunk of those is from people who have a problem with the LGBTQ aspect of the game.

Yeah, i saw that the "press" or official media that review the game gives high score. But people that really enjoyed the 1st said that this game history isn't so good.

You've been fooled.

And the 'professional critics' are mostly glorified PR. I'm shocked anyone believes gamecritics still this day and age.

Nope, there are countless comments and videos proving exactly that. First random example I found. He is complaining about nothing but that the game has LGBTQ stuff in it and "pushes an agenda" (which every game with some gay element is accused of nowadays).

And the 'professional critics' are mostly glorified PR. I'm shocked anyone believes gamecritics still this day and age.

I am shocked people believe random people on youtube more than anybody else (not just gaming related). Take the example above. This kid "rates" games. He says TLOU2 is the worst game he ever played. Why does he say that? Purely because he doesn't like the gay stuff. It has nothing to do with the actual game. Would you believe this guy over an actual critic who is at least trying to be objective? Doesn't matter if you like the story of the game or not, if you have a problem with the gay stuff or not, if you personally enjoy the gameplay or not - at least you should have the decency and honesty to admit that the game is far better than "the worst game ever". But regular players often lack both and rate games based on a single piece of criticism, ignoring all the rest the game hast to offer. That's why metacritic is full of people who never played the game, yet rated it 0/10. Same thing happens to CoD games every time. I am not a big CoD fan, but I am at least decent enough to admit that even the worst ones are still quite alright. So yes, I believe a professional critic who gives Infinite Warfare a 7/10 more than a random user who gives it a 0/10. One is about right, the other is just a hater who gives a dishonest score. I can appreciate youtubers like TotalBiscuit back in the day, or similar people nowadays like ACG. But they are not the random people I am talking about, they are professional critics on youtube.

Well, you found one. Is that "big". I got none in my YouTube list.
Try
https://youtu.be/4Gzi2ceBqGQ
Or Skill Ups for example.
But it is rather hard to ignore it does push an Agenda when Druckmann plainly states he uses Anita Sarkeesians philosophy as his standard he wishes to follow.
Like ANTHEM and Mass Effect Andromada. Those turned out sooo well.

I didn't find just one. I did a youtube search, and that was the first entry.

But it is rather hard to ignore it does push an Agenda when Druckmann plainly states he uses Anita Sarkeesians philosophy as his standard he wishes to follow.

You know, when a game is about friendship or family, people say the game has a message. Well, when a game is about almost anything, they say it has a message. But when it's about LBGTQ stuff, it's suddenly an agenda. And that term is so much more negative and has so many (often unjustified) implications. Why is that? Can't a game have gay characters in it and push a message of freedom and tolerance? Why is that even negative? If anything, having a message often enriches the experience.

As far as I know, Naughty Dog uses it's own proprietary engine based on PS hardware, so I think the chances for them to make it portable to other platforms are slim.
I believe the game engine is the key here, and it's what allowed other PS4 exclusives to be ported to PC.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

PS hardware is basically the same as PC. They use the same parts nowadays. So porting a PS4 game to PC is not as much work as it was in the past with PS3 and below. The only argument I could kind of understand is if a game absolutely relies on the SSD speed of the PS5, but that doesn't apply here.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Nope.

  1. Its system seller for PlayStation hardware
  2. It should be played right after PART I, so they need to port both of games
  3. ZERO Naughy Dog games was ported to PC
  4. Game not based on Unreal Engine or Unity
3 years ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

  1. Right
  2. Right
  3. Right
  4. Wrong (Death Stranding and Horzion zero dawn are not based on unreal nor unity and porting them is something else we talk about)
since these two games i mentioned using diffrent engines so if they want to they can do that
but since this game and god of war are the reasons to buy ps4 they wont give it up that easily

death stranding uses encima ? i suppose but horizon uses a diffrent one ! engine is important but thats not a excuse to say its impossible to bring it on the pc !

Both Horizon and Death Stranding based on a Decima engine by Guerilla. So maybe there is some kind of cooperation in porting both games on same engine to PC.

I dont think so. Sadly, Naughty Dog games have never been on the PC. I had to jump back on console for every new Uncharted game.

Also slightly off topic, but I wish a knew a spoiler free reason why the second game wasn't well received. I still haven't played the first and now I'm worried about playing if the story ends badly :/
