Do the gift copies expire ever or they just stay in your inventory till they are not redeemed or gifted to someone? I have a few games in my inventory that I might or might now play in the coming days and just want to know about this.

Also what is the difference between the Games that show the picture in the inventory and the ones that just show a steam icon with STEAM GIFT written on it??

Thanks in advance

1) They don't expire

2) There's no difference.

For the most part, gift copies of games will remain in your inventory forever, unless you give them away. Afaik, there were some beta passes for games in the past that will have EXPIRED in their title, such as the AirMech and ARMA III beta passes. There may be more, but beta passes are usually the only gifts that will expire.

As for the STEAM GIFT thing, I couldn't tell you. More than likely, those are from either games people received during the 2011 Holiday Sale (for reasons I wouldn't know, as I joined Steam last year), or the aforementioned expired guest passes.

As TheDopefish stated above, however, there are no other major differences for these gifts.
