This is really just out of pure curiosity:
Do you have many friends on Steam? Do you interact with them regularly? Are they personal friends in real life or acquired from all over the internet?
Just want to get a broad picture here :)
(Also felt like creating a poll, to be honest. Just because. Random as random can be^^)

EDIT:
Curiosity strikes again. Just want to know how many people actually still read this here, so... have a giveaway! :D

Sending out some felicity here! :D

Sure: I'm at about 50 Steam friends now (and I was kinda shocked to find out, I thought it would be less^^). A handful of them I know in real life, most of them I know from Steamgifts or Twitter :) I'm happy to get to know fun, exciting and lovely people everywhere^^

But...and forgive me for checking, but your Steam profile only shows you with 52 Steam friends. What am I missing?

Not many. I only recently cracked double digits after 9 years on Steam, with most of them coming from this site in the last few months. We chat occasionally. One of my recent Steam friends is a real life friend, except I haven't seen him for about 20 years, only interacting via Facebook, and I also have my cousin as a friend on Steam. I see him probably a couple of times a year, but we mostly keep in touch via Steam.

There really was nothing to it. I swear it takes care of itself. It was a little depressing to see that I made less than one friend per year. You seem pretty friendly, so I'll send you a request (I have a different name there).

But I really think there's nothing to be depressed about ;)

Indeed, I am "the one", but you don't have to call me that if it feels uncomfortable (at first). ;-P

Nah, it's not really depressing, more reflective of the fact that I avoid online gaming.

My IRL friends are all console gamers so I have none of those in my friendslist. Nearly everyone on my Steam friend list are from this site, who added me for one reason or another and forgot to unfriend me and I keep them as my cool people's list so I can pretend I'm cool (it's not sad, stop saying that :p). Though I never start a conversation with anyone unless I'm extremely comfortable around them, because I always feel like I'm imposing/annoying them if I do. I also don't really use Steam for socializing, except for the Touhou chat.

You're very kind to say that, it probably is an insecurity thing combined with negative experiences from the past, still it makes me uncomfortable (even if it's just a feeling) to start conversations ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had 500+ "friends" on friendlist on list. Now i have only 126, actually somehow familiar persons for me. And i don't like to speak with IRL friends through internet. Why when you can do it IRL? And i have special understanding of word "friend", so i have few friends on steam and IRL. Others are just familiar (good or not so good) persons.

My IRL gaming friends are all on League of Legends, we were a big group and have been playing for 4 years++
Then I was fed up with it and made the hop to Steam on my own, it was suddenly weird^^.
I used to hop on their TS server from time to time but not anymore because eww LoL talk.

I play most game only in single player mod.
In MMO, i play with some people but even if i like them they are not real friend and when i stop the game i don't see them anymore.
Maybe it's sad but it's like that.

I have a lot of acquaintances on my list, primarily from Left4Dead times as a server admin a long time ago. A few pop up every once in a while on the activity feed. Only a few I know from other forums and about 5 I know in RL.

A couple dozen, changes periodically. Only 3 people I know in real life. I don't use Steam as a social platform (activity feed, commenting, chatting, etc.) at all so basically I only interact with people when making trades or receiving/sending GA wins.

I have 147. Four of them are real life friends who don't use steam much. About five of them are people I met on SG and are incredibly generous and wonderful people. The rest are either people I don't know well but are really nice or strangers I traded with and kept on my list.
