cough carefull there: The first X-COM was renamed for the US market and originally called UFO: Enemy Unknown here in europe and since then mostly known under that title here despite the US centric renaming of the series. ;) But I guess since you meant the inspirational spin-offs in the same vein (UFO Aftershock/Aftermath/forgotthethirdtitle), I'll let that slide, for now :^

AFAIK the first game was the only one named UFO in some parts of the world, Terror from the deep and Apocalypse were named X-COM so his guess was incorrect anyway.

UFO series is a completely different series my dude, no one refers to any x-com games as ufo, only the very first game was sold under UFO name in NA. The sequel Terror from the deep was sold as X-COM worldwide to my knowledge, same with Apocalypse

Most ppl i know played UFO: Enemy Unknown as first game and would refer to whole series as ufo series.. But i guess that is what you get when there are few similar ones.
