Well, about corporate tax it's not a therory. In France we verified it with our big companies relocating to asia after we got François Hollande elected and that he increased taxes on the riches dramatically. Many rich people switched nationalities, moved to other countries and so on. It was on every TV channel back in the day. I was a kid at the time but I remember pretty well. In the end it did nothing good to the economy. His promise to invert the unemployment tendency never worked. And it was a disaster for the small shops that got so many taxes they were unlikely to survive more than three years. The only thing good from his presidency was LGBT marriage I guess...

Doing taxes is good, and if you have the money to pay it's better. But too much taxes just kills the employment, because your jobs from big companies are just going to move in another country with basic supply and demands law. It's really important to prevent big companies from avoiding taxes. But they always have a choice to move elsewhere where they are not bothered by laws that put taxes on them.
Medium or small companies don't do such things but they are the first impacted by these kind of laws: they can't just "run away". as a result they are likely to deperish. Instead of raising taxes on all companies, doing specific laws against tax avoidance is a better solution I think. It punishes the true culprits.

I agree opening or closing borders does not impact crime rates. Criminals do not need open borders to do their dirty jobs as they will do wrongs anyway. But limited access to a country is more likely to slow down crime to come from outside the borders. It's probably not the best solution tho as it also impacts regular migrants workers, but I think it could help to a small extent. (Tho I'm really not a specialist on the matter)

The major problem of raising the minimum wage is that companies will raise their prices accordingly only because labour is more expensive and as a result their function costs raise. Considering that big companies are very present in the economy/in the market, this will impact all sectors of the economy, and like a game of dominoes, it will raise the price of everything one way or another.
Of course many big companies earn enough to not do that. But they will anyway. Probably when you earn too much money you only care about the number going up.
I know some companies that try to be more humane with their workers and pay them more/make them own a part of the company, but they are too few of them...

So... In my opinion, even if the idea of raising minimum wage seems to be a good idea, especially for the families that have the most difficulties getting to the end of the month without their fridge getting empty... It won't resolve the problem at all.

I hate this kind of political campaign promises becaiuse it's only cheap bait for people that are in great difficulties to secure their vote.

When I say companies often follow this rule, I'm not saying it's good. I'm not saying it doesn't need to be changed, cause it's very wrong in many ways. But raising taxes is not the solution for making this problem dissapear, cause it will not dissapear in the blink of an eye and certainly not by encouraging this behaviour by companies.
Not saying either that companies should not pay. Of course they have their share of taxes to pay, and they should totally share what they earn with the state, with their employees and everything. But it can only work with moderate amounts.

Probably restraining companies to relocate in a country that authorize slavery would help, but even for China it's not even counted as slavery despite having litteraly concentration camps for Uighur people.

Our modern society is built on some sort of slavery, it's just not only about black people anymore. In every way, slavery is wrong and needs to be abolished. People have dignity, and it needs to be respected. And freedom is the only way to that + making laws and educating people.

Democracy dies without a well-informed electorate. If they can't be bothered to do the work then they shouldn't be voting. At this point in time in Canada I'm basically a three issue voter, who is going to break up the monopoly for the big 3 telecommunication companies, who is going to start investing in medical schools increasing the number of doctors so we aren't in a doctor shortage, and putting dental care and vision care in the health act of Canada. These are the issues that I care about in Canada, even if the conservative party of Canada was like we're going to do all of that, but we're also going to you know ban gay marriage, or ban abortion, they wouldn't get my vote. Keep in mind these are things I want, why? Because I live in a society and those other things affect me too.

Then they have no business voting, no offense to your family and friends. People who vote (left or right) without knowing anything, just to spite the other side, should get their vote taken away from them.

as much as i want trump to have as few votes as possible, i gotta disagree with you hard here. voting is a right and should be taken advantage of, unless it's up to chance like a flip of a coin, everyone should vote and that vote should be counted. i think these days it's pretty hard to not know something about either candidate. i mean even at the most basic level most everyone knows that republicans are conservative and democrats are liberal. that alone tells a lot about a candidate and what to expect of them if elected, and that's enough for a lot people, and it's okay. personally i think you should know more about whom you're voting for, but i wouldn't suggest that they don't deserve a vote. many republican voters know trump has a shit personality, but when it comes to a conservative candidate, he's literally the only choice. the fact that every four years it realistically comes down to only two choices is pretty fucked. the parties, the voting process, electoral college, it's all fucked. it should be better, but that's just an opinion.

i just really, really hope that come january 20 the republican party can go back to being one we love to hate, instead of hate to hate. this whole 'alt-right' movement fueled by hate, fear and bigotry bullshit needs to die out. that's really all i can hope for anytime soon.
