I have good amount of friends, and most of them, I don't remember who, so this month, I started putting nickname, specially because some of them change their username. What about you, do you add nickname to your steam friends? if not, do you think this is a good idea?

most of my steam friends are unknown to me, because i forget them. I might end up removing them until we find a game we can play together

whats your thought on this?

I don't have friends.

Yes, because I can't expect people to not change their nicknames later and I hate guessing who's who. That's why I always take a photo of a girl I meet when typing her number in the phone.

I don't even know, or play with the people on my friends. I don't even know why I keep them on my list.

I add my friends' names, what I've traded for or was gifted, and the reasons why I added someone or someone added me. It's also very useful for when people change their names all the time. 🥴 Of course this does help with a lot of the latter.

Yes, and also some people that send invites; so in the odd change they attempt the scam method of pretending to be somoene else, the nickname helps me identify thats not one of my friends and just one of the randoms I accepted. Also makes it easier to clean the friend list when I want to do so.

I do for friends I know personally. I have groups in my friends list too, which was helpful when I was playing several online games. Even if I didn’t nickname them, I’d remember why I added them, or had a shortlist of people to invite if I needed a teammate. Between the two it’s easier organizing people.

I do, ever since playing ark survival evolved where people changed their steam names to stay stealthy or raid with fake names etc i renamed them so that i know wich "123" is wich person..

I rename people that sends me stuff, so I can gift them something back once in a while. And some people have their real first name + birthday date so I can wish them a happy birthday properly. And my best friend is called "Horny Young Homo" because I laughed my ass off when I saw that written on his Skype profile.
