I don't know if it's a trick or there's something else going on. To me it doesn't make sense to do the sale and remove to get collectors to buy, because I think it would still generate a lot less in the long run, especially when the sale is at 90% off, that's going to be pennies on each sale. I guess if it were me, I would just leave it in Steam.

If the "game" looks like it was made in an hour, hentai sliding puzzle, copy/paste, achievement spam then it's garbage. You can't compare games like that to games that took years to make.

This kind of indie game is just up my alley on most days. I think only time will tell what will happen overall with this game, as @doslover said, maybe it's an exclusivity deal with Nintendo.

For most people, buying games isn't altruism and charity. It's about personal gain. In this case, it's getting entertainment. That's why so many people here are concerned about sales. If they were here to just support devs, then obviously a sale percentage would never even be an issue.

I'm not talking about financially supporting the devs, I'm talking about supporting the future that the devs have planned for the life of this game on Steam.
Everyone complains when games/keys get revoked, keys don't work/supposed duplicates, game doesn't even have an executable, and so on. For me, this seems like a similar practice.

Guess what, I had a little bit of excess wallet so I ended up buying it. I really have no restraint when it comes to this stuff, I blame the fact that the game costed me just 3 or 4 cards :/

Interesting, but I'd rather buy Snakeybus which is on sale for 3 more days (January 27) at $2.49 USD

probably wasnt getting any exposure and had no real sales, so they figure making a big deal out of ITS BEING REMOVED will generate mass sales with its low price. better to make 5 thousand sales at half a buck, than 5 sales at full price...
they can always change things up and release it as a new game down the road, or maybe they already have a new game in the pipeline.

Actually reading through the developer's note, it looks like they are trying to bring it onto the Switch instead. Though I don't understand why pulling it from Steam would help the cause.
I gathered from the comments that this sale and removal from the market irked a lot of people, I really didn't mean to alter anyone's ideas about what they think of as a good game. I only read about this and wanted to bring it to the attention of many people who I know may find the game interesting and might be upset that the game would be pulled before they could get a chance to try it.
