Fallout 3 vs New Vegas (Sgtools Giveaways Inside)

All people says that its better New vegas. Im still in the first dlc of fallout 3

I have to say New Vegas looks like the superior of the two. Thank you for the GAs!

Lol a maximum level? Anyway bump! FNV will always remain my favourite game. Nothing beats travelling the Mojave desert with my trusty radio, bot and rifle. :D

haven't played the original, but i certainly enjoy NV

Definitely New Vegas since it have more features and the gameplay is better in general. Although, Fallout 3 wins in terms of the atmosphere. There's always mods to add up what's missing though so both are fine.

I like New Vegas because of the awesome mods but I do really enjoy the DLC that you can get for 3 way better than New Vegas. I guess it just depends on which part of America and its heritage is your preference.

new vegas seems more colourful and open to exploration.

If you want a nice adventure with a cool map take Fallout 3
If you want a good RPG that can be a EXTREMELY GOOD RPG if you put some mods, with lots of decisions, quest, lore and stuff from older Fallouts... Take New Vegas

Never played a Fallout game, looks like a good opportunity to start. :)

Fallout 3 has a better map with more interessting locations.
New vegas got better writing a better story and some gameplay improvements.

F3 got some great mods that made the game a lot better but NV got more and better mods. So overall New vegas wins but i like pretty much all the Fallout games besides that one we don't speak about.

Edit: Steam still fucked up. I got the GOTY edition of F3 but i can still buy/join GA's for the normal F3 :) Just a heads up.

Well, great giveaways either way. :)

Vegas is Obsidian- Obsidian is a go-to for story-driven, rich RPG experiences.
F3 is Betheseda- exploration and modding are what drive the games, as the stories tend to be shallow, quests predictable, and landscapes bare. These traits are what generate the preference for New Vegas over F3, but the rich sandbox experience is an appeal on its own, especially once mods 'make a real game out of it'. :P

I do prefer the originals- but then, top-down isometric turn-based will usually be my preference. :)

Is anyone else hoping Obsidian takes a crack at Fallout 4, as well? :D

I like them both, but I prefered Fallout 3.

wich game has a texan cowboy robot, living aliens, brains in a jar tangled on a nerdish fight, a suit that talks with felicia day's voice, 2 living persons from before the war, a crazy brazilian who would go to extreme lenghts to kill you, a vault full of gold that when you take it sets an autodestruction mechanism, super mutants as good guys, the proper enclave armor, a world that challenges explorers, great writing... and more.
