Hello community!

I have a question concerning achievements from removed games. I bought game X. I plaied this game for <2h and I decided that I want to give it back and recive refund. While playing I got few achievements. Now I can see in my Showcase that my average level of completing the game has dropped because of this game. So I do not have this game anymore in my library but I stil have achievements from it. Is there possibility to remove them or to write to steam support to remove them?

You can ask them but they don't care about it.

It is theoretically possible, but requires a lot of work. Even if you use SAM to remove achievements, the game still will count toward the average. Just live with it.

I wonder if even SAM works with those. If I'm not mistaken, achievements you get from free weekend games can't be removed with SAM after the free period is over. Maybe it's the same thing with removed games.

But then again, it won't matter if the achievements from this game still counts towards the average.

Oh, I meant removing them while they are still on the account. I tried it and it was obvious it didn't work. :)

Well... you always can unlock all of them except 1. That way they no affect too much your total % but still don't say you beat games you didn't play.

It's cheating? Well, actually only you care about your statistics, so it's a thing you have to debate with your principles.

They will still count towards the average, but now with 0 achievements on that game. Support itself used to warn about it and I have experienced it myself. Once you unlock a single achievement in a game, it will count towards the achievement average.

Support does not remove achievements. Tried and failed. Support does not do anything, really.

All games that you have time on that include achievements, whether or not you have actually earned any, will count against your average. This is why it's really painful to be a card farmer AND an achievement whore (personal experience and source of my jadedness against Steam's handling of achievements). As talgaby has stated, you can tool away the achievements themselves, but unless you can find a way to wipe your playtime record, you're stuck with either buying/trading for the game again and earning more achievements, or live with the average drop.

Actually, they count when you obtain the first achievement. I farmed a lot's of card and never added a game just for time. (Except if the game has an achievement about time played, of course)

My experience states otherwise. But then, Steam tracking is still extremely broken regardless.

EDIT: For reference, that experience came before cards and when my library was quite a few hundred games smaller. Had a percentage of ~40%, activated and played Dustforce, a game with 1 achievement, and saw my percentage drop that day, without having played any other game.

I know this is a really old thread, but the issue is still relevant as it has not been changed. I recently just encountered issue when Zonitron's games were removed. Some I barely played and had over 300 achievements, of which i had achieved very little of them. I think your best bet is to use SAM to get the game to close to your overall ACR, so it doesn't make a huge difference.

It didnt looks like you are a achievement hunter or completionist, so why you care about the achievements?
