Well... I still didn't finished Scott in Space. At least, I can try again, but I've to find some other titles, because this title don't even have achievements, and F12 don't work properly.
( By now, I see... Pepe Porcupine, Cat Goes Platform and Rescue Love Revenge. I'll check all the achievements details and other things tomorrow. )

For me personally I would say it's "okay". It's a polished game, very chill and cute, the music is nice and I enjoyed fiddeling with the weird controls :3 I played with a controller and haven't tried keyboard/mouse so far
Unfortunately I'm not that much into collecting stuff (even though I'm always doing it in assassins creed :D) and that's basically all what this game is about: Collecting crystals, coins, spirits, whatever, while struggeling with the strange snake controls :3
And the only reward you get for collecting 100% of the stuff in the game is a new skin ...so I don't really feel the urge to do it :(
Would I still recommend to play it? Yes, even if it's just to experience the controls. You don't get to play very often as a snake in games :3
And each time you climb some kind of wooden construct, it turns into it's own little puzzle where you have to think: "can I let go of this button without falling? Or should I wrap my tail around it one more time to be sure?".
And if you enjoy collecting stuff and 100%ing games just for the sake of it, I'm pretty sure you would have a good time with it :)

A long time ago I bought Dishonored from GMG, but then decided I'd like to have all the DLC as well so I started buying those whenever they got a good enough discount (which was rare). Finally I got tired of waiting so I just doubled down and bought the Definitive Edition heyooo
Then I heard about D2 coming and decided I'd wait with playing D1 until I could get that somewhere with a nice discount as well so I could play them back to back, and now 3 years later I finally have the opportunity to do it thanks to a generous Steamgifts user
So yeah, first thing I'm doing after I beat Postal II is fire up D1 and 2 ^^

Eh I would put Dishonored 2 under "Games about love / hate / romance" - brutally murdering people is close enough to hate right? And while I never played it (I disliked what I played of the first one :( but I seem to be the minority ) I can only assume there is some love/hate going on somewhere in the story line.

Stealth is my top favorite genre so I'm definitely going to enjoy these games.

As I am BIG fan of Dishonored I say yes, you can! ;)
Also, you can possess rats and fishes in the game, so it counts as playing as an animal tag too. :)
Edit: Oh, we were talking about the second game. XD Same rules, you can possess animals. And we can't forget whales!!!!

Well technically we're talking about both as I was waiting for a good sale on D2 so I could play 1 and 2 back to back but then I won it in a GA here (yay!)
Honestly had no idea you could possess animals, tried to avoid as much spoilers as I could all these years so the game is still fresh, i'm very good at that. But in that case I'll add them both under that category :D

Yeah, you play as animals so I got that right, yay! But during the second 'real' story mission it tried connecting to Steam servers (dunno why), failed and after 2 retries it continued but no longer allowed me to move my units, so I have to restart it all over again. And I couldn't properly close the game either, had to do it the "dirty" way.
Not exactly good first impressions, but I'll give that mission a second try later after I'm over the frustration of having to re-do very slow TBS stuff due to such a silly issue.
EDIT: Animal Herding is broken, you cannot pass mission 4. So deleting that one since completion is impossible (even if the game was super-boring so no loss). Seems my entries so far are super-buggy :/

I will check for the next 2 days if anyone changed the status/added anything myself so no need to inform me. If you need anything changed starting on August the 2nd you will have to inform me as I will have to do that manually as the site prevents people from editing anything once the event is over (it ends on August 1st to account for different time zones).
I checked all games marked as "unfinished" earlier(30 minutes ago) in case anyone else forgot to mark anything and approved a couple of those (yours being one of them). I did just notice that the site was reporting the wrong playtime/achievements as you got them after the last update was ran so I ran it again. It is now showing it correctly on the site. I however I will only update the leadarboard tomorrow to prevent me from having to update it 100x as little changes like this come in.

Hello, first timer joining the event. Seems like fun! I only have one SG win that seems relevant, but it's one I've meant to go back and finish for a while, so...
SG win:
- Shadow Bug: Play as an animal (ninja bug). I've almost completed it so it kind of feels like cheating but the last boss is REALLY hard and I need the motivation. :P
Backlog:
- Cultist Simulator: Card game in which you can
play asbecome an animal. Also has romance options. I'll try for a victory that combines the two before I call it "beaten" (even though I've completed several other paths already). - Rise of the Tomb Raider: In which Lara Croft hunts animals for experience. Because killing like a thousand bad guys isn't enough.
- Blacksea Odyssey: Hunting eldritch space whales. 'Nuff said.
- Love is Dead: A couple is so in love that their minds survive becoming zombies. Naturally, they set out to find their lost pets, Catface and Dogface. Ridiculously adorable.
- Snakeybus: Animal in the name. Plays like the classic Snake... but you're a bus.

- Shadow Bug: Beaten! Turns out I wasn't even close to the last boss. SO MANY LASERS WHY
Backlog (not SG wins):
- Blacksea Odyssey: Verified, never got the chance to play. It's a hard roguelike though, probably wouldn't have beaten it anyway.
- Cultist Simulator: Beaten! I've beaten it before, so this time I combined as many themes as I could into a single ascension type, one I hadn't done before. So: Change ascension (in which one sheds one's skin to become a mythical beast) alongside my undead lover. Cult and beloved were of Heart aspect, just for icing on the cake.
- Love is Dead: Beaten! May go back for completion, but there's one achievement that won't fire.
- Rise of the Tomb Raider: Verified, played a lot, but forgot how long it is. Still, got through the Baba Yaga storyline which might be the most fun I've ever had in a Tomb Raider game, so I'm happy with it.
- Snakeybus: Beaten? Unlocked everything, placed at the bottom of the weekly highscore list. If I get a top highscore and/or the final achievement I'll call it completed, but I feel this is good enough for a "win".

Just beat Jydge, and updated the site. Surprisingly, there's an achievement for beating the 3rd act, but not one for beating the 4th and final act. Weird. Regardless, I'll likely go back to play some more, and see if I can do a second playthrough for the "good" ending.
The game was pretty fun. Starting out, it wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be like. But the more I played, the more the game opened up, and the more fun it became. I'm not necessarily happy with the pacing and default level gating mechanics (there is an optional way around that), but I did really enjoy the challenges and how they forced me out of my preferred playstyle and into alternative styles - like having to rush through levels instead of being sneaky and stealthy.

Yeah, it's one of those rare games that gets better the more you play. When I first started playing, I was really disappointed. I seriously wondered if I had made a mistake in winning it, as it was not at all what I thought it was going to be like. The beginning was rather dull and boring. But then you get some fun abilities, then more fun abilities, then even more fun abilities, and even as the challenge escalates you find you have the tools to overcome them. I meant to play for just a bit last night, but the "one more level / one more challenge" hook sank in, and I ended up playing for 2 hours until I beat it.

moved to a new house a week ago, new phone contract should've been already fully functional: phones are working fine, but internet connection is really a blast from to the past, cause it's pretty much a 56k where it should be at least a 7M..

What is the current policy on the playtime limits in previously started games? I have about 22 hours in Niche from the June challenge, but I'm pretty far from beating it. HLTB and astats have no useful info and based on what I could gather from discussions about the game, the time of the first campaign playthrough is heavily based on the playstyle. The spread is like from 10 to 70 hours I think. My playstyle is very very slow thorough. :)
And the game does fit this month's theme perfectly.

Well usually mouse is pretty generous with that., Have you beaten the game? If the anwser is no, then it is okay to play it. If it's your only entry for this month there should be at least a quarter of the game still left to finish ( or something like that, if I remember correctly.

Even though I played a few titles recently that fit the bill, I have more left than I thought. I'd really like to try Impossible Creatures, but not sure I'll have the time for that one. More doable: Do Not Feed the Monkeys, Super Rude Bear, ABZU, Dusty Revenge, Nyan Cat, Jumpjet Rex. Not sure if Toby: The Secret Mine qualifies since I'm not sure if he's and animal or not, or if Day of the Tentacle will work as it's only a part of an animal :)
Edit: Added Squidlt and Toby: The Secret Mine to my goals, but completion for Impossible Creatures is not looking good for this month. Just too much involved, including being more rusty than I thought at RTS games and not really inclined to re learn all those keyboard shortcuts. I will still try for the end of July, but I'm not optimistic.

Okay, cool, thanks :) One more question... Since the first one is a card game, I'm not quite sure when to mark it as "beaten". Completed means I got all the achievements, right? (Those card games tend to be quite big - in Slay The Spire I got just 43% in 44 hours :D) So in order to beat it... do I just play until I feel like I got most out of it?

If you don't mind I will just copy paste what I told someone yesterday:
Play till you feel like you are done with it and happy with your progress. Another way it can be done is playing it about the time people said on average is to beat "the main story" on HowLongToBeat.

But as the first sentence says, if you feel like you already got everything you wanted out of the game and you are happy with it and feel like the HLTB time is too high you can always mark it as beaten earlier, I don't mind :)

The Longest Journey was the first game I bought from my own money as a child and the story just blew me away. At this point I'd rather have no Linux support at all instead of the half assed attempts some dev studios deliver sometimes
When I first tried to play Hyper Light Drifter I spent an hour or two trying to debug why it wasn't working and attempting to solve it while I could've spent those 2 hours actually playing by just enabling Proton from the getgo

I must have be super unluckly then because I found 2 of them last month alone and I might have called a dev incompetent over it out of annoyance. No regrets.
I admire your persistence at actually trying to fix it. Shame that the solution ended up just not playing the Linux version. the Games like this simply get thrown in my shame pile (to be fair most of them are games that just don't work with Proton) to rot till I can be bothered to start up Windows (which hasn't happened since March sooooooo probably not happening any time soon either)

I think it had to do with the fact that I just couldn't accept that a game I've been looking forward to for years and actually bought for full price through Humble had serious issues which made it impossible for me to play.
There's no way I could get myself to put HLD under the "NOPE" category (which functions as my shame and trash pile) in my steam library haha
I exclusively run Debian since 2 years now so whatever game doesn't run on Linux or via Proton might as well be dead to me hmm
Do still have W7 on my old PC so if there's something I'd REALLY REALLY want to play I could always try to see if that thing still works lol, hasn't been plugged in for more than 5-6 years though

I been using Mint (I am ready to get judged for that :D I would kinda like to try Manjaro out but I haven't got around doing that yet) on my laptop since 2015ish and now on my desktop as well since March. I was gonna keep using Win7 on my desktop but long story short there are no Win7 USB drivers for my new motherboard and I am sure as hell not installing Win10 on it. I was and still am perfectly happy with switching to full time Linux anyways.
I do also still have my old PC that can run Win 7 but I have no reason to boot into it at all.

No judging from me because Mint is totally fine. Every distro that works for you is a good Linux. except maybe Hannah Montana Linux or TempleOS (though only Linux in spirit), if you use those as your daily driver you might have some issues
I'm sure that you already know but you can just run Manjaro off an old usb you have laying around, easy to testdrive other distros

Yep, I knew, but making a bootable USB and then going into BIOS to change the boot order takes too much effort for my liking I never claimed that I am not lazy. Plus if I end up liking it then I have to put even more effort into backing everything up and reinstalling everything :/ Someday... :D
Worst part is that I am stuck with Win10 at work everyday >.> Don't think there has been a single day that something made by Microsoft didn't manage to crash or fuck up. But I guess since we use Skype for business that is not really hard to achieve :D

If you have your /home on a diff partition could you not just wipe the others and be fine? Though obviously I would NEVER recommend trying that without creating a full backup lol, way too risky

AFAIK it is only available in Koran so that might be a little bit of a problem unless you speak it.... but I guess terminal commands are always pretty much the same no matter the language.... hmmmm

Normal Skype works decently well (I am actually in a video call right at this moment), it is just missing some features over Win10 version (but the Win7 version of it doesn't have them either). Skype for Business I have no idea, never looked into it.

I doubt there is easy access to a terminal emulator though, that would give the user too much freedom to access system internals. I'd love to have a look around though. Version 1.0 is available for download and I've been tempted before haha

Please tell me something that allows you to video call for both Linux and Windows and I will happily try it out. Trust me, I tried just about anything I could and everything worked worse than Skype (which is honestly an achievent). I for sure wouldn't be using Skype if I had a choice.

I know Slack has it but I have to be honest and say that I don't personally do video calls so don't have any experience with it and don't know about any other alternatives either

Well, after getting all 15 achievements, I can state that not that lot of fucking despite what people may think or the store page indicates. More like Eyes Wide Shut meeting Lovecraft in a walking simulator and little gameplay beyond some standard fare hide and seek.
It was okay. Not particularly engaging, but worth what I paid. Plus the mansion aesthetics, even beyond the erotic art, is just great, the level designers put a lot of work into the game. Since it is a walking simulator, at least it had to look pretty. ^_^

Greetings from another summer month. :)
I want to ask a general question since sooner or later i'll be in the position, maybe even in this month who knows. One of them is "What do you think about games that already beaten but going for another walkthroughs?". And the other is "What about games that cannot be beaten easily since they don't have an end?".
Examples: A visual novel game with 15 endings but you can only get 1 achievement when you finish the game. I wanted go for other endings for a long time and this seems a perfect time for it but dang, it's already beaten. :)
For future reference: A truck simulator game with literally no end. Or any games fit this situation. Even you can complete the achievements but you cannot beat the game. :)
I wonder what do you think about these? (I don't know if these are already asked in the past though.)

Hm that is a bit hard one. If there is more achievements/endings to be gained I would say sure, go for it. Also I might be OK with it if there are no other SG wins that fit the theme anymore to be played. Otherwise I would say rather not so other wins can get some love too.

Play till you feel like you are done with it and happy with your progress. Another way it can be done is playing it about the time people said on average is to beat "the main story" on HowLongToBeat.

I hope it fits the theme somehow since it has animals. :)
Otherwise, my other wins that fit the theme are visual novels I beat before. 2 of them still have endings to explore though.
Also I checked HLTB for American Truck Simulator and that made me giggle. How can one beat a truck simulator with a giant map in 22 hours. :)
Last part: This seems a long shot to me but Stronghold Crusader 2 has farms in it. If those 2 fit the theme, I would love to go with them.

It would be hard for you to decide when the game got beaten. If I remember correctly there is some kind of campaing (in the achievements it would be the third era I think...) and then you can play freely and try to achieve specific goals.
I have completed everything in 99 hours. XD

Kyrrelin already gave you the blessing for Reus and I will give you one for Stronghold Crusader 2. Literally the 2nd screenshot on the store page has horses, I guess you can count them as your companions :)
As for ATS: yea good luck getting anything done in 22 hours :D I have 80 hours in it and while I do have 100% the achievements I am nowhere done with it :)

Added both of them. Not sure about Crusader since I love RTS games and do 1 hour missions in 2 hours, it will take time. (Imagine how I play Anno games.) :D
But I'll try to beat Reus in this month, relatively short at least.
80 hours is quite short actually, that means ATS is easier than ETS2. Well SCS keep adding achievements with every new expansion though, so until the map is complete, there is no end. :)

It is, if not for anything else there is no damn achievement to 100% explore the map >.> (I actually have it, don't even ask how long it took because I did it with all the DLC except the Baltics one)

Unless you are impatient and you give SCS all your money the second the expansion launches. They deserve it with all the work they put into the game anyways :)

Agreed, they deserve it. ETS2 or any other simulator games, I play them time to time and there was a time that I didn't play it for an entire year. So I'm no rush getting them. Though when they're on sale, I couldn't help myself and even if I don't play it on those days, I still buy them. The magic of GabeN. :)
