We can finally preload the game on GOG! But I don't own it on Steam, so I don't know about there. For a moment I thought we wouldn't have that option :p Anyways, what are your thoughts on the game? Do you think it was worth the wait?
Also, don't read the achievements if you want to avoid spoilers

Wait, how does preloading a game with no protection work?

They give you the essential parts of the game when it is released.

Yup, the install exe with the decrypt key, I'm a smart potato.
Kinda sad how it's already on torrents, they just add the exe and they're off. Wondering how many of them will buy the game later... (me and everyone I know have a history of privacy, but now I have a history of buying the games I pirated and enjoyed, it's like rehab, but with Steam and Origin)

I pirated A LOT of games too, and sometimes I still do, but I made and effort and bought this one. I think CDPR really deserves some money, is one of the few companies I can trust.

I'm 100% pirating this game... so I can see whether I can run it or not before buying.

Story time
4 years ago, when Steam didn't have Free to play games, I had a potato PC with no GPU and wanted to play Mafia II, but I didn't know if I can run it and my potato Internet didn't allow me to download the full game and discover it doesn't run.
So I looked for the demo, found a weird place called Steam (never even heard of it before that) and downloaded the demo there. The game ran 2 fps at lucky times. GTA 4 didn't even start on that PC.
2 weeks later, free-to-play games on Steam, found TF2, never actually bought a game on Steam for 3 years, but it happened

Story says there are demos for lazy people with slow internet.

It is an awesome game, at first I didn't like it, but after the prologue the game gets really good. I completed it last week, with all the achievements and all that stuff.

Witcher 1

Prologue:

  1. Gameplay: boring combat system
  2. Story: Nothing special
  3. Triss, it gets interesting there

Get to the first inn:

  1. Hit on the waitress, she says she's a nice girl, I ask her if she's only nice when working and naughty after. She runs away and I never see her again.
  2. Lost all my Orens on fistfighting.
  3. Found a drunkard, we get drunk to feel better
  4. Drunkly ask the innkeeper to close the Inn, he says he'll do it, I trust him and I think he did, I was too drunk to notice.

The realism in the game is pretty amazing, wasted more time in the Inn than any other place in the game (haven't got past that yet).
10/10 for realism because I was drunk when playing and it made me realise how good the game was for allowing me to do that in game and not wake up in jail IRL

Wow, the Steam version is just 12,8MB. That's some next level compression right there! ;D

In GOG is around 21.95 GB, maybe Steam has a better compression system, or something like that.

Haven't seen the list, nor the Galaxy's UI, but if it doesn't hide plot-revealing achievements like Steam does then I don't think everyone can figure it out. :P

Steam Pre-load: 24853MB. Is that a couple GB more than GoG?

even at 1mB/s it's going to take 6 hours and week left to release.
