Thank you for the games.
Only entered the wishlisted one ;->
If you are somewhat affine to electronics you should scrap your old notebook. Keep the harddrives (as external drives or to upgrade your new one with a second drive if possible) and and sell the rest. That does only work if you somewhat know whats wrong (if it suddenly died and does not do anything, mostlikely mainboard). But Screen, Ram, CPU, network (if seperable), keyboard, case and so on should be ok for sure (as long as your Laptop did not went out with a boom and smoke).
You should be able to get a couple bucks (more when selling the whole thing as defect).
Good luck with the job interview.

Hm...
Depending on where this screw is and what tools you have you can use a drill to remove (destroy) it and open the case.
Anyways (independend of you being able to open it or not), as long as you have removed the hard drives:
Put it up on ebay or similar.
Just be honest in the description
"Broke down with symptoms... and has a stucked screw. Without drive"
Even if you get only a couple of bucks thats better than nothing I guess ;->
Or just give it to a local Hardware (repair) shop. They might be able to use some parts.

If you use a really small metal drill (little smaller than the srew) you won't damage anything but the screw ^^.
But that is a lot more effort. (And you have to make sure the little pieces of metal don't falls into the Laptop and so on.
You should check what a defect laptop of that kind brings on ebay. Mostly thats around 10-50$ depending on the model. Selling in single parts might bring 50-80$. Not sure if thats worth the effort.
At least for the stuff I sold so far thats what I found/got. Always 5-7 year old notebooks. But of course depends on the model, the overall state and the current demand ;->

If you need a new PC, you should talk to BHTrellis' parents! :)
