PewDiePie - Ruined Gaming or Saved Gaming?

He's just a screaming cancer

He started get fame thanks to his dumb screams on amnesia, i never saw a adult male scream that way, then he was smart enough to create the "bro army" and trying make the followers "special" to monetize his channel, i don't hate him i´m neither against him, i just get annoyed by bro army community because they are used like puppets and they dont realise that plus they dont stop talking about him in others gaming channels which upset me. Thanks to him i got 2 conclusions: 1. the fanbase "bro army" isnt much different of justion beiber fan club; 2. If you want get boost your channel you need give special focus to create own community because you will get followers that will defend and promote your channel without you do a thing.

The only thing PewDiePie ever really had any effect on was that crappy obstacle course flash game that I can't remember the name of.

He did neither. I would say that at least he does some advertisement to some good indie games. I get why people are annoyed by him though. His first videos were actually kinda fun and genuine. But then it spiraled to a bunch of faked reactions, repetition of pre-baked memes and so forth. All because of the so called "bro army". Never seen such a bunch of obnoxious fanboys before.

But well, if he ruined anything, it was Happy Wheels. Or rather, his fans. His fans and Toboscus's fans too. They took Happy Wheels and killed it. But I do not think he ruined anything in gaming further than that.

To be honest i don't get all the hate for him. He is nothing more than an attention whore. That's all there is to it. He did not ruin gaming, if anything he brought some attention to some relatively ignored games. Sure his "style" may annoy a lot of people, i'm not a fan either, but to each his own.

My brother has shown me a few of his videos, and they were kinda funny. Outside of him, though, I've never heard of the guy. I don't think I know anyone else who has ever mentioned him, and this is even my first run-in with a mention of him online, personally. So I really don't think he's got a strong enough impact on the community to do either. And it's honestly kind of silly to think he could. He's a Youtuber - not a messiah or anything of the sort. =P

I know of no other youtuber who annoys me so much. His comedy comes from "HAHA LOOK AT ME, I SCREAM AT A MONITOR, BUT NOTHING FUNNY, JUST SCREAMS"

it was funny first time we watched him, plus, it was a let's play of a new hl2 mod, so why not, guy screaming at barrels while playing a horror game. oh, and i watched him play a good ipad game since i do not own one.

other than that i have no trouble with him exploiting the typical internet user who thinks in pictures (memes, or at least i think it's called that) and likes hearing same joke a million times and comments in anger if it wasn't said in that one vid.

You are giving the guy WAY too much relevance. Why do you even care what other people watch?
His content is garbage, we know that much. Thankfully this will not prevent you from looking for content you enjoy.

Neither, I like Pewdie, in fact I think he's great, but I wouldn't say he can change the gaming world. He wants to entertain people, not change them ^^

Never seen any of his videos but I don't like him. Why? Because from what I've heard from other people and what I see on other Youtuber channels - he seems like a little kid who doesn't know what he or his fanbase is doing. And he was one of the people whos fanbase started that whole copying thing.

I honestly don't watch his videos as I just find them annoying and it's an overused concept. It makes sense if he did a few videos following that 'style' of commentating but to base an entire channel around it is just insane. Anyway why would he bring in 12 year old fangirls? I don't understand how he could draw in anyone other than gamers talking about him and aren't boys just as bad as girls? Try not to be sexist.
